Zoneminder Install

Postby mojolightning » Sun Oct 17, 2010 8:45 pm

Greetings.

I tried installing Zoneminder today through the Amahi installed web interface. CPG and Bigfoot kindly provided access to the installer today. The installer indicates the following before sitting at the last one for hours:

1. retrieved dependent packages
2. Associating with HDA server
3. preparing to install

Stays on #3 for hours.

How can I obtain additional infromation from my system to better understand why the system is taking so long to load zoneminder? Or why it is stalled?

Regards,
Mojolightning

Below is the log file entries for the 4x that I tried to install ZM. What can I do next to help resolve the issue?

My background is an Electrical Engineer with a dangerous amount of software experience. :)

Hmmmm....it may be broke. Please go to settings in the dashboard and let us know what version of the platform and hdactrl you are running.

It appears that something may not be up to date. I will have to take a look at the app and see if I can figure our what is wrong.

Ok, think I found the problem. Please uninstall and reinstall. It should work now providing you have the latest Amahi platform installed for Fedora 12.

I'd really like to give Zoneminder a try, but for the life of me I can't find any real info on installing from the HDA interface. While I'm not above dropping to the command line I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something somewhere before I start pulling packages and mess up my box!

Please let me know if there is an easier way.

Hi Edgar,

I was able to install from the HDA interface after I requested to be a Beta Tester for the Zoneminder. I started down the same path and quickly figured out that it was going to be challenging. bigfoot65 should be abl to make you a beta tester.

Regards,
Jeremy
