Just pasting this wiki link here to keep the possibility of meeting some of the small office/small business users app needs in mind. It's an area I'm particularly interested in and I'm sure others are very tempted (or already are) using Amahi in their office or org.

Maybe respond to this thread in the forums or on the wiki to express interest in a SOHO working group.

Re: Small Biz
I just want to let you all know, this has been looked at, but as of right now no one has really talked about starting on this project yet. As we are very shorthanded. So if anyone would like to help with this PLEASE let us know, and stop by the irc channel.

Re: Small Biz
to be honnest, soho to me for now looks a reall bit of hard to even nearly impossible,
for a decent soho system one would at least nead LDAP based access ...
i dare say that is way beyond the scope of amahi for at least as long, as it take for a feature compleet amahi (i meand like what ubuntu would call a long term support release... or a 'major version' or whatever it is you want to call it...
after that all has been achieved id be happy to help and setup a roadmap to an sbs-like setup...
hoever if SBS is what you want there IS a real sbs linux server availible under the GPL its based on centos..
but it does NOT have the amahi touch... and i would never recoment it to home users... (as in you wont find support for your torrent client (to name just 1 example) ...

Amahi Roadmap and Project managment:
Even though im considered to be an IT Specialist,
you shouldn't ask me linux (command) specific questions,
for in general i'm only able to help with more generic problems.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
good idea on a roadmap. we have PCD, which is one step. what can we do next?
can you perhaps prioritize or create a roadmap (in your opinion, no more no less), from what we have so far?
we have this:
http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/SOHO_Features
and also another page that i cannot find at the moment.

Re: Small Biz
Hi This is archetech here reviving this thread to suggest adding to the next version of Amahi F17 a small business server package set or by adding a package group or following a wiki how -to for adding a public web server, mail server, vpn, firewall, samba tweaks, etc. Maybe a reorg of the wiki and pull all the pages that pertain to web and smb topics under it's own heading/sections so it's away from home use pages. I'm signed up in the wiki and willing to help. .
