After broadband downtime, Amahi has DNS issues
Hi all, This has happened to me at least a couple of times now, and made me look extremely silly to the ISP support people  ... Basically, this is what happens. The cable broadband connection goes down, and then comes back. When this happens, sometimes the ISP's cable modem needs restarting, a...

Re: Changing Amahi's DNS
i find OpenDNS to be unreliable at times. I have less issues with GoogleDNS also.....i find using webmin to change DNS to be far simpler. i can also edit DHCP to give alternate DNS servers. I have DHCP set to give: 192.168.1.5 HDA 192.168.1.1 router - uses ISP DNS 8.8.8.8 Google 8.8.4.4 Google Cisc...

Re: Hosts file w/ DNS, disabling "eth0" and SMB creds via DH
Yeah, it certainly does stink! I want to replace the mobo, but not quite yet. If you remember what you do in Fedora desktop, I'd most appreciate the heads-up. I've been trying things manually (ie changing the Network settings, and then restarting the network, bind and dhcp services via command line)...

Re: Hosts file w/ DNS, disabling "eth0" and SMB creds via DH
I would think disabling the integrated network card via the BIOS would do the trick. bigfoot65, there's no option in the BIOS for this (had to wait until the next reboot to test this out!). So, that means I'm pretty much stuffed unless I change my motherboard! :( Damn annoying, as it kills all my n...

Re: Updating Greyhole : Don't Panic
rpm -Uvh (not rpm -i) (you are doing an Update, not an install). but doing it with yum is better as it keeps the yum database in sync: yum update http://www.greyhole.net/releases/rpm/x86_64/hda-greyhole-0.9.20-1.x86_64.rpm You can also add the repo as explained here http://www.greyhole.net/download...

Re: Updating Greyhole : Don't Panic
Sorry, these might be newbie Linux comments, but no one has actually mentioned the command you need to run to INSTALL the latest version (just what you need to run to REinstall if it goes wrong). I'm on x64, and was still on the original 0.9.2, so I tried: rpm -i http://www.greyhole.net/releases/rpm...

Re: Updating Greyhole : Don't Panic
Doh!! Completely missed that! As usual, thanks bigfoot65!!By command line, you can enter:and it will display the version in the top part of the output. I believe the Amahi version installed for Fedora 14 is 0.9.2.Code: Select all

Re: Updating Greyhole : Don't Panic
So, the latest hda-greyhole version is available in the greyhole repo. The version in the amahi repo is outdated. http://www.greyhole.net/releases/rpm/i386/hda-greyhole-0.9.20-1.i386.rpm bigmango, thanks for clearing that up! That's effectively what I thought, but was thrown by the "naming&quo...

Greyhole sticky setup, & is partial string match sorted?
Hi, Boy do I love Greyhole! So far I've been managing my Greyhole storage by using "Stickies". This way I could (kind-of) create a dummy RAID1-type setup - ie I wanted each Share to have it's own pair of disks. I therefore setup my greyhole.yml as follows: - - Music/ - - Pictures/ - - Fami...

Re: Updating Greyhole : Don't Panic
Are they not maintained as different branches? ISTR reading recently that, to get the latest version of Greyhole, you're better off loking at Greyhole's own repo??hda-greyhole is the amahi specific version of greyhole.
