Run level 3
Runlevel 3: You may want to not start X windows all the time to make the machine faster. In that case, make sure inittab has a line like this id:3:initdefault: i.e. with a 3 in it, not with a 5 in it. This makes the default runlevel to 3, which does not have X by default. Where is the inittab? Thanks
