Re: Temporary failure in name resolution ?
Thanks for the reply. Here are my observations: - The daemon stuff is ok now, fixed that already myself. - Now, when I look at the files in /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh/freigabe2999/ as the user, I get "Keine Berechtigung" - "no access", however if I'm ls -l them as root, it i...

Re: Green computing?
OK, good! Here's my current idea on minimum features: - Have a list of client MAC addresses - Have a list of scheduled wake periods - Both lists are XML so that it's easily accessible, ie, others can write to it. - The system powers off if none of the clients responds to a pinged and the system is o...

Re: Green computing?
Not really. If there's an ACPI option, activate it, should be enough. If there is a wakeup time set in BIOS, make sure it is cleared. Set APM to off to be sure there's no conflict. If you can send your machine to S3 ("Standy" in Windows), you should be all set. You can do one additional te...

Suggestion: Move Greyhole con jobs to cron.daily
Hi, Currently the Greyhole daily cron are only executed if the server is running at 0:00 am. To allow for servers that are powered down at midnight, I'd suggest to move daily fsck and restart cron jobs to from /etc/cron.d to /etc/cron.daily. I've done it and it works, I guess it's a simple change to...

Re: Green computing?
Thanks for the feedback! It will however take some time, as I haven't worked with Linux for a couple of years. Also I'm running Amahi in a VM only, I don't have a spare machine for live testing. I've digged further and maybe we can use the RTC BIOS function to simplify things. Can you help me to che...

Re: Temporary failure in name resolution ?
I noticed that the owner of the symbolic links is root:root, whereas the real files belong to my_username:users. Could that be the case? To check I tried to change the ownership of the links with chown my_username:users *, but this doesn't work, the owner is still root. EDIT: chown works now (forgot...

Re: Temporary failure in name resolution ?
Hi, seems there are indeed two daemons running. No clue why. Just did a clean install a couple of days ago, with no changes but via the Amahi control center. Symbolic links seem ok as well (have been like this from the beginnning). They still show up on the server, and the real files are there as we...
