SOLVED: New web-apps on Amahi 7
I'm trying to set up the Amahi DNS to create my own web apps. This used to be an option under the "apps" page - can someone give me an idea of how to do this in Amahi 7? For reference, the app I'm installing is transmission (not the one-click install) but I'm really interested in the gener...

Re: Network trouble on clean install Amahi 7
I managed to get the httpd service working, not sure if the fix is proper but seems ok so far. I googled error code "AH00016: Configuration Failed" from my httpd error log, and tried post 8 from this Fedora forum post I had the very same problem and solved it changing the content of /etc/h...

Re: Network trouble on clean install Amahi 7
update - I installed the Plex app and it seems to have fully broken httpd - the service won't start manually now after restarts. Status gives the same errors as before, none of which are particularly helpful. Since httpd isnt working I can't roll back Plex to get it going again. Help! In case it's u...

Re: Using Bind to create DNS proxy
For anyone else that may have been searching for this - just change the DNS provider from the default to the unblock-us DNS using this wiki page https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Changing_your_DNS_provider. The unblock-us DNS IPs can be found on any of their setup pages eg at step 9 on this page http...

Re: Network trouble on clean install Amahi 7
Secondary issue - on the network troubleshooter, the first instruction is to run "nslookup hda". nslookup isnt installed by default in the install - you need to install bind-utils to make it work. I understand that Amahi 7 doesnt use bind any more - I think the equivalent is "dig hda&...

SOLVED: Network trouble on clean install Amahi 7
I just installed Amahi 7 on my server, but am having troubles with the network. httpd doesnt start cleanly on reboot (or on first boot for that matter): [root@server ~]# service httpd status Redirecting to /bin/systemctl status httpd.service httpd.service - The Apache HTTP Server Loaded: loaded (/us...

Re: Beta 1 install test
OK some further research. Appears that the DNS is not working - I changed /etc/resolv.conf to replace the nameserver to google DNS 8.8.8.8, and yum is now working. I don't know enough to actually solve this problem but this short term fix is enough to get packages installed at least. Any help welcome!

Re: Beta 1 install test
ok found a pretty big problem, and have run out of time to fix right now. I cannot resolve any yum mirrors eg: trying to yum install nano gives a whole lot of errors for the mirrors ending with FAILED http://ucmirror.canterbury.ac.nz/linux/fedora/linux/releases/18/Everything/x86_64/os/Packages/n/nan...
