Forgive my noobiness(sp?) but if I change the script permissions for mounting, wouldnt it just need read and execute access. I thought the mount script gave those by default. Thanks

Same here, I was able to add all my movies through the files but not the mnt/samba/* ... Im nervous though because Plex can edit/delete files. Therefore as the tutorial mentioned could orphan files.
