Re: Small Biz

Just pasting this wiki link here to keep the possibility of meeting some of the small office/small business users app needs in mind. It's an area I'm particularly interested in and I'm sure others are very tempted (or already are) using Amahi in their office or org. :) http://wiki.amahi.org/index.p...

Re: Amahi as a complete distro?

You cannot rely on torrents for this sort of thing. You have to have the alternative. For reasons, many people do not use torrents, know anything about them, or are scared of them. Also, you cant rely on it for the reason of seeding, yes there will be some of us seeding but you can rely on enough p...

Re: amahi as router 2 nics

I second rgmhtt's opinion. You don't want to do this. 1 mistake can cost you all your data. especially if you want to use your hda as a webserver for a forum or blog for friends, that code can also contain bugs or be compromised. Once a hacker/bot *&%$ up your database Amahi will grind to a hal...

Re: Amahi as a complete distro?

It saves many users a lot of hassles! BK: there be torrents for that ;) my torrent client runs like.. 24/7, im sure there are others who are also willing to torrent an Amahi distro ;) And even if bandwith is a problem, do you know of a way to make such a distro? personally, i'd like to build one for...

Re: Idea's for the business edition.

janjacobs has the same idea that i do about being modular. Have a business, multimedia, security, home automation modules etc.. that are separate add-ons of the core platform. as i have said on multi ocasions in the channel, the biggest advantage amahi has over any home OR soho server is its flexib...

Re: Idea's for the business edition.

good idea, but not sure if this is going to be taken up. Cpg might comment on that. one thing you state is "all thats missing so far is a descent web interface that could interact with the mailserver." uhm, not sure what you mean by that. you mean for configuring the back end? or for read...
