Re: LVM IDE harddisk's

you should note that I assume your volumegroup is called "vgdata" and your logical volume is called "lvdata" the defaults in Fedora are different from this, since you didn't set up the LVM by hand I think you have the default setup. the default name for the volume group is: Volgr...

Re: network monitoring

sure, will add it to the list somewhere this week if I've got the time. I'll take a look at the code from french (I'm not a coder), but I think you can have ntop trigger certain events and mail them to you. SNMP based triggering seems to be an option... you may want to look into the admin section of...

network monitoring

Maybe it's something people are interested in, you can add network monitoring to your server. Personally I like ntop, I just installed it last night and it works great. It will give you nice graphs and other metrics on type of traffic, amount of traffic, bandwidth on your LAN to the server etc. Inst...

Re: harddisk control (adding/changing)

I'm not a bash scripting guru, but this is fairly easy to find out... # This utility searches for available HFS+, NTFS and FAT32 partitions, creates # mount points for them and mounts the partitions # Now for the real work drivesntfs=`fdisk -l | grep -i 'ntfs' | awk -F '/| ' '{print $3}'` drivesfat=...

support page in default install doesn't exist

If you click on help on the HDA setup page you're sent to help.amahi.org, this page doesn't exist anymore (has it ever).

I've noticed it with the link on the Personal Backup, I didn't check the rest.

Re: Gallery2

well if you do want to remove the .htaccess it should be the one that's causing the trouble. Since we're talking about gallery2 you might want to just rename all of them in the gallery2 subdirectories. just do a "mv .htaccess oldhtaccess" in every subdir where an .htaccess is placed and yo...

Re: 2 "Quick" ones - Email server and hibernate

First up: a server should NOT be compatible with your client, it should be the other way around. Standards are there for a reason. As long as both adhere to the standards (e.g. POP3, IMAP for retrieving mail, SMTP for sending mail) any server and any client should work. For retrieving mail from your...
