Re: Amahi Energy Saver

Jayrock, I'm currently running the released 0.8.2b rollup and having issues with the aes daemon dieing. It looks like alot has been done to correct early death and restart issues in git, so I haven't T/S. That said, you have posted a tarball since 0.8.2b, so there's probably a reason. Most of the wo...

Re: Controlpanel says status not updating

I've found that disabling DNS will cause DDNS to stop updating along with the phone home to the Amahi control panel.

I only disable the DHCP service and leave the DNS active but unused.

Re: 64 or 32 bit? The 64 bit express cd fails to install

Cool, I only tested the 32-bit expressCD in a 512MB RAM VM so thanks for the confirmation that Anaconda does the right thing and fetches the proper bits if the system has the additional memory.

Re: Set Amahi as DNS server through Tomato

Are the client PC's getting there DCHP from the HDA? If they are then they should also be pointed to the HDA for DNS. In tomato the "Intercept port 53" is used to prevent another DNS server behind the router from being used. It will intercept all traffic destined for port 53 (DNS) and rewr...

Re: 64 or 32 bit? The 64 bit express cd fails to install

What processor is it? I didn't notice any c2d's at 1.6Ghz, only the original Core, many of which where 32-bit processors. Either way the benefit of 32/64bit is minimal. Using the 32bit expressCD, If you have 4GB+ and want to take advantage of it, note the kernel that is installed after the installat...

Re: Transfer Speed

What NIC are you using. If it's a realtek chipset (rl81XX) that appears to be on most all boards I've looked at, check what driver it is using. If your using the r8169 driver . You may benefit from compiling the r8168 driver from the realtek site. This made all the difference on my D510MO...Why Inte...

Re: uTorrent as root...

Yeah, it looks like most people out there are creating thier own init scripts for it. The only distro specific one I found so far was for debian. But starting the server using fedoras daemon function allows designating the user:group. It was good to look into fedoras init script structure, I'm used ...

Re: Easy pool

Did you remember to select "Uses Pool" in the settings for each share that you want to move to the pool? You post only indicates that you defined a device for the pool not that you told any shares to actually use it.

Re: uTorrent as root...

Most of my googling around utserver reveals that Unreal Tounement server apparently runs happily as non-root. :D Unfortunately I'm not finding much info about the uTorrent server. It seems like the apache user is applied to the Web GUI, but the server is owned by the starting shell, so root in our i...

uTorrent as root...

I'm running uTorrent installed through the one click + wiki guidance for 64-bit. There are a few things that I don't feel comfortable with. 1. utserver is running as root...Is that desired? 2. Downloaded files are root:root and 644 I'm betting that utserver creates files according to the user it's r...
