Re: There are no applications available at this time.

The amahi.org host system is and has been available in a very stable configuration for over a decade. Over the last few weeks, about once or twice a week, we have experienced some occasional overloads. Once we experienced it twice in a day, however, there could be some spikes. We are working on it, ...

Re: Amahi reached sixty thousand (60,000) registered users...

Always great to get some good experiences from users, specially long-term users! Thank you!

Directions on the update are credit to @bigfoot65 and (IIRC) @megabitdragon, who tested the update a couple of times!

Thanks again!

Re: How will Amahi effect my DD-WRT router?

I did not quite follow everything, which stopped me from replying the first time, and then got sidetracked. Basically, an Amahi HDA will serve one network, typically a C-class network (256 addresses, 192.*). Simple. How you arrange the rest is up to you. My router is DD-WRT and it's not affected by ...

[SOLVED] Re: App Install error

It's clear from the data that someone changed the ownership of the /var/hda/web-apps folder, completely breaking the web server from being able to write or create new folders to that location, breaking app installs.

The user has been advised in IRC.

Re: Amahi 9 Install Issues

This is incorrect and that is why it's not in the documentation for installing.

Only if the initial install for some reason does not get the gateway right (e.g. if the HDA was moved or relocated to a different network with a different gateway IP), this would be needed.

Re: Class A address

yes. however, if you plan to use one of the VPN apps, I think OpenVPN, it uses 10.8, so i would avoid that range and stick to something else. HOWEVER, you MAY need to increase the netmask, as I think amahi defaults to 255.255.255.* if you have more than 153 DHCP devices and 98 static IP devices. we ...

Re: DoS attack and port forwarding for OpenVPN

Yes, port scanning from various parts of the world happens all the time, sadly. Just make sure you have strong passwords and no other ports open. The likelihood that they come in is small, because most login programs (including our IpSec VPN , not sure about OpenVPN), limit the amount of unsuccessfu...

Re: OpenVPN main cert has expired - are there updated ones available?

Yes, I'm not sure how each client reacts to expired certs. Some may let you override expired certs (think of what browsers do), or, more likely, they may just refuse to connect (since VPN is typically more important than just browsing SSL). We will need a few more hours to sort this out. Possibly a ...
