DNS Alias Question
How do you setup the 'friendly' URL for a webapp that is running on a particular port? For example, the cockpit admin page runs on port 9090 by default, and is accessed via: http://localhost:9090 I'd like to add an actual URL for it so that you can type in http://cockpit.hda.local similar to the lin...

Re: Is it ok to move the mount point for drives
Trying to be patient and let greyhole finish, but it appears to be stalled. Tail for the greyhole log is coming up with a message repeated over and over - "Share is locked because another file operation is waiting for a file handle to be released. Skipping." Restarting daemon, fsck etc do ...

Re: Is it ok to move the mount point for drives
OK, I wnet ahead and moved the mount points following all the directions in: https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Changing_Greyhole_Mount_Points#Create_your_new_mount_points The only change I made was mounting in /var/hda/drives/ instead of /var/hda/files/drives It seems to be working well so far. I als...

SOLVED: Is it ok to move the mount point for drives
I just have quick question to see if something the little OCD demon inside my head wants to do will cause me any issues going forward. Following the standard guidance for my build, I have the following: /var/hda/files/ (2 TB drive, NOT on boot drive) /var/hda/files/drive2 (2 TB drive for greyhole) /...

Re-re-build
[Bug][/Bug]i have installed Amahi 8/Fed 21 on an Asus P8Z68 Deluxe MB with 16 GB of RAM, INTEL I7 processor etc - everything was running beautifully with Greyhole, Plex etc all installed and running flawlessly. Then I decide to push my luck by adding more storage and rearranging some of my hardware....

Re: How to uninstall Amahi-netboot
Bigfoot - You are correct, lots more easy to implement apps and capabilities... and a great framework to install and use them without the windows overhead. All I really need is a basic redundancy / file sharing / media hub / backup solution for the home. I personally don't care that much about VPN o...

Re: Landing Zone (Easy Question)
My question is based on the material for Greyhole in the wiki, after first reading AND following 'adding a second drive to your HDA' article in the WIKI itself and specifically the 'moving all Shares' portion of that article since there did not seem to be a way to do so in the GUI. In more direct te...

Re: How to uninstall Amahi-netboot
Perfect! That was it , removed GParted, then uninstall for Amahi-netboot was shown. Both successfully removed now. I'm trying to build a long term replacement for my WHS 2011 server - matching the functionality I have with it has been a bit of a challenge. My hope is Amahi will do it, only concern i...

Landing Zone (Easy Question)
I did my HDA install initially on a HW mirrored pair of 500GB SSD's. Before installing greyhole etc, I followed the guidance in 'installing 2nd hard drive' and Installed a Samsung 2TB drive, then moved all the shares to it based on same article. Once that was all fully functional, I added two more 2...

Re: How to uninstall Amahi-netboot
I'm pretty sure it showed in the applications list and I clicked on it by mistake and installed that way. I do not have any other apps installed which a netboot option would make sense for, although I did try and remove several which did not appear to work well. What I have: phpMan Monit Service Man...
