Re: accessing apps over vpn
Hi, Sorry for the delay in replying - I've only just noticed this post. I've been using iPhones and iPads with IPSec on a daily basis for a while now, so I can confirm that it works in principle. The IPSec VPN needs to allocate IP addresses that are different from your local network for a variety of...

Re: Timemachine backups with Amahi
Hi, There are several things to consider to work this one out. I'm assuming that both your HDA and the laptop in question are connected to the same domestic network in a simple arrangement. (if your network is more complex, pls post more info.) 1. If you open the Finder (rather than time machine) on...

Re: Problems with IPSec app
Hi, Can you give us a bit more information about your setup? Is the airport extreme also handling your external Internet connection? What other ports do you have forwarded? Were you connecting your iPhone via wifi or 3G? Can you post the contents of /var/log/amahi-ipsec-vpn.log? Or the output of ipt...

Re: Timemachine backups with Amahi
For those that are using the app. How does it store the backup file? isit a sparsebundle or the normal timemachine backup? Apple's Time Machine software creates a sparsebundle when backing up over a network (I understand it even does this if you have an Apple Time Capsule). The sparsebundle is just...

Re: Timemachine backups with Amahi
All, First, apologies for the delay. Some real-world matters have kept me away from Amahi lately. The first draft of the promised wiki page is here: http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Amahi_Time_Machine I'll try to improve on that over the next couple of days. For those that are curious, "Amahi Ti...

Re: IPSec VPN issues
Port 1701 sounds like it's trying to connect to L2TP/IPsec rather than a pure IPsec tunnel - the two are quite different methods.

Re: Timemachine backups with Amahi
Sorry for the absent update. I was hoping to be able to have a neat integration with greyhole at the first release, but some obscure technical issues between AFP, samba and greyhole have slowed that down. I'm currently running a tough stress test (2^21 files in a directory) and checking that it will...

Re: IPSec VPN issues
You can create any PSK you like by editing /etc/racoon/psk.txt and then restart racoon (or just reboot). If your client is compromised, you might want to change your password as well. Unfortunately, I don't have an Android device to test. Google suggests that there are generally issues getting Andro...

CLOSED: Timemachine backups with Amahi
All, I know there's been some interest in having an easy Timemachine backup solution. Just want to let you know that it is being actively worked on and I'm hoping to have an app ready for testing in the next week or two. At the moment, I've got it broadly working with both Snow Leopard and Lion. Tim...

Re: Amahi and IPv6?
aphex242, As no-one's responded to your post yet, I thought I should step in with a quick response on my view, lest anyone (including google) be left with the impression that Amahi is in some way incompatible with or does not "support" IPv6. I write as a user of Amahi, who also has an IPv6...
