LVM and a lucky drive repair

It is always easy to be wise after the event, but if I was going to reinstall my HDA I would partition it rather differently to the way I have now. Because I am running a bit short of space in the partition I use for backups, I thought that I would delete the unused LVM partition and expand some of ...

Re: IPSec VPN issues

Port 1701 sounds like it's trying to connect to L2TP/IPsec rather than a pure IPsec tunnel - the two are quite different methods.DF You are right. It does not look like Android currently does a pure IPSec VPN and don't support the installation of clients that do unless the phone is rooted. It looks...

Re: IPSec VPN issues

I still can't get my Droid X running stock Android 2.3 to connect. I have been playing with IPSec on my HTC Incredible S on stock 2.3 as well. One problem I have found using the stock VPN client is that the connection is not made to one of the ports that should be used (UDP 500 and 4500). Looking a...

Re: Updating Squeezebox

I will see if I have time to uninstall and reinstall tonight. If not, it will be a couple of weeks, but I will report back.

Re: Updating Squeezebox

Thanks for the reply. It looks like you have updated Squeezebox Server to 7.6.0 as that is the version now reported in the aStore. The aStore version was 7.5.3 when I installed it. I was not sure whether installing a newer version of an application (such as Squeezbox Server) using yum would break th...

Updating Squeezebox

I am currently running Squeezebox Server on Fedora 14. I am running version 7.5.3 and would like to upgrade to 7.6.0. I assume that I need to uninstall the current version via the Installed Apps page and then reinstall it again, but I am a bit concerned that the 7.6.0 version will not appear on the ...

Re: Squeezebox Server Reinstall Problem

I've now created the wiki at http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Squeezebox_Server I have the same problem with a clean install of Squeezebox onto Amahi 6, but the Wiki instructions resolve the issue. It looks like CGI::Cookie is not installed by default in F14 so might need adding to the install scrip...

Re: Windows 7 Network Shared on HDA Size Wrong

The problems appear to be caused by disabling things in the wrong order. Would it be possible to add something to the script that runs when drives are deselected from the pool that would check for Greyhole entries in smb.conf and either remove them or warn the user to deselect the shares first? It m...

Re: Windows 7 Network Shared on HDA Size Wrong

I added one drive back into the pool and the correct share sizes / free space appear in Windows again. Running greyhole --fsck resulted in an error about timezone settings - I recall this appearing in a log during installation. PHP Warnng: date_default_timezone_get() I have now removed all the share...

Re: Windows 7 Network Shared on HDA Size Wrong

It appears to be a Greyhole issue. Looking at /etc/samba/smb.conf, the affected shares (those that show 1Mb free on 2Mb total) were all part of a Greyhole pool. I started off with this and then removed them from the Pool and turned Greyhole back off again, as it did not really suit the way I work wi...
