Re: Setup Your Own Amahi Music Server - For Free
Does this work for forked-daapd? Firefly Media Server hasn't under development for two years so is risky to use - not only for security reasons but also because compatibility could break at any point and then you're stuffed.

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
I'm just using hdparm -S 60 /dev/sda, not using the -B switch at all.
As far as I can tell though, there's no actual way to know if a drive is asleep or not...

Re: AjaXplorer & Extplorer
Thanks for the suggestion but that isn't working for me either. I changed the "Docs" repository to point to "/mnt/samba/" but then when I try to go into any of the sub-directories I get this error: http://i56.tinypic.com/kd4p4y.png Also, whenever I use right-click in any of these...

Re: Missing 'disks' indication in dashboard
I'm not sure I believe the "idle" reasoning. My disks are set to go idle after 5 minutes of inactivity, which means most of them should be off 95% of the time. However, my dashboard shows all of the temperature sensors.

Re: AjaXplorer & Extplorer
I have the Extplorer app installed but when I access it via my web browser and go to /mnt/samba, all of the share folders (e.g. "Downloads", "Video", etc.) are empty.
Any ideas?

Re: ++New Live App for Greyhole
How can I access this with the Amahi DHCP and DNS servers turned off? http://greyhole-log.home.com/ obviously doesn't work in this situation.
EDIT: Never mind, added 192.168.1.99 greyhole-log greyhole-log.home.com to my hosts file.

Re: DNS and DHCP should be optional, for real
You can add "192.168.1.99 hda" into your "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts" file so that using "\\hda" will work.
This assumes your HDA's IP address is 192.168.1.99 of course.

Re: Transmission Headless
I think I just downloaded Transmission (not the Amahi app) and then used the Transmission GUI app. I can also access it through a web browser. Works fine either way, although the browser method is a bit clunky and missing some features.

TeamViewer blocks HDAConnect. Other options?
I want to be able to access my file server from outside the network (in fact it's one of the main reasons I built it - to be able to have 24/7 access to my files without leaving my power-hungry desktop on all the time). Currently the server has TeamViewer installed so that I can do whatever with it ...
