long story short: Don't do it.
Crashplan creates too many read/write cycles for the samba/greyhole combo to be comfortable with.
Save your crashplan backups to a static volume... eg: lvm, zfs, ext4, raid, etc.
I tell you this from experience (re: broken storage pool)

Re: owncloud and greyhole
First, mount shares locally on the HDA https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Mount_Shares_Locally then setup ownCloud and make it use the mounted shares as you see fit, but DO NOT point ownCloud at the /var/hda/files (or other direct shares directory) It interferes with how samba functions, esp if you ru...

Re: Crashplan on fedora 19
While on this topic, I'll toss in that I installed Crashplan from it's downloaded installer via CLI only and found out about how you can use forwarding thru an SSH session to have a local Crashplan client connect to a headless machine running Crashplan and operate it that way. The instructions are i...

If you grab

It can "burn" ... more like "write" the ISO to a USB key instead of a CD/DVD

Re: Simple Backup
Crashplan does inter-LAN backups (yes, even the free version) and quite eloquently with any OS.
Install it on both machines and in the background it handles moving backup data to other machines on your LAN. The cloud upload option is what costs money.

Re: Amahi Install Partitions
As Amahi version 7 is relatively new and the underlying Fedora release is also quite new (including it's installer as well) the tutorials in the docs or the wiki may not translate directly to the look of it, but the principals stay the same. Although the official guides may not say it directly, it i...

Re: It's really time for full USB installation support
external USB disc drive FTW!
otherwise, clever work with ISOs on to USBs will do the trick, and knowing how to point fstab at the mounted USB also makes it work.
The only issue is that USB sticks have much more limited I/O cycles

Re: Server hardware queries for New Amahi 7 server-Proxmox
If you need to understand Proxmox first (which makes sense) then readup in their forums and also try out proxmox within a VirtualBox VM on your own desktop PC beforehand and you can mess around with it. Proxmox is a hypervisor OS, so in terms of layers.... it's as follows if you want to go with bare...
