when this happens, it means that insert (the mini-distro inside PBA, which is showing it's age), does not support your hardware well. it could be that your hardware is too old or too new. you can download SystemRescueCD and boot from there, then follow the directions in http://pba, which should be a...

ah, ok. i think f10 does it without an extra image (i.e. in the default dvd one), and i got confused.

that's strange.
did you check the media with the first check that comes up ?
if so, did the media check ok?
if not, please check the media. some times it helps by burning at much slower speeds than the maximum rated for the DVD.

x86_64 is not well supported at the moment (lack of hardware for testing)
also, there is no password protection for the setup pages. it's in the roadmap to be added.
however, you can add a .htaccess file in /var/hda/platform/html/public to control access.

First off, let me just say that Amahi installed without a hitch and is running great. Really, it was easier than I expected. nice to hear! a) Do you recommend performing a regular "yum update"? Or should we just simply leave package versions as they were installed? it's really up to you. ...

two things:
- this is inside my network, so no port forwarding should be necessary
- my understanding is that freenx is actually done through ssh, so, even if done externally, no other ports than the port needed for ssh should be required (even if not the standard port).
