Re: Fresh install/no hda-install AS ROOT!

Hi, This is rather strange. did you add the http://f9.amahi.org repo during install? The hda-install program should be installed if you did, and it should be in /usr/bin/hda-install If not, and you rather not reinstall (which is what id' nominally recommend), you can try the procedure to install on ...

Re: Insallation on existing F9 machine

You probably mean on Firefox. Here is how to set your "home page" to the dashboard (this applies to any Firefox client in your network, not just the HDA): Navigate to http://hda Go to Edit -> Preferences Go to Main In the Startup box, click on the "Use Current Page" That's it, yo...

Re: Unable to connect to apps

I have a linksys router and I do not understand how to set it up to use the amahi as the DNS and DHCP server. All you have to do, if you want to take advantage of all the DNS goodies that come with the Amahi home server, is turn off the DHCP server in the router. The linksys routers should be easy....

Fedora 10 working notes

Fedora 10 is not supported yet. Working notes on it are here.

On alpha releases we can be more aggressive with features until we release. What features do you want for the Fedora 10 version of Amahi?

Re: File Sharing Control

Hi Mike, Did you update fedora by hand recently? If so, you may experience this issue . You can tell you have the issue linked above if the file /var/lib/samba/private/smbpasswd (in your HDA) has only one user called guest. If not, make sure the share is visible and accessible to that user in the sh...

Re: Choosing a domain name

It goes pretty deep, as it affects samba (names for the workgroup in lmhosts) each web app foo has a ServerAlias of foo.home.com in the conf networking/dns also needs reconfiguration then services need to be restarted, and last but not least, it will not take effect until the clients refresh their l...

Avoiding vanishing samba users with upstream Fedora update

We just released some fixes to hdactl to avoid conflict with upstream samba-common updates. This only affects users that update their system by hand (i.e. with the desktop tool or yum). You can tell if you have the issue if the file /var/lib/samba/private/smbpasswd (in your HDA) has only one user ca...

Re: Need help with Ajaxplorer

See this link in the wiki for deails on how to do it http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/AjaxPlorer.

Also, there is the nice screencast on Web apps, which uses AjaXplorer as an example: http://blip.tv/file/1491674/
