Re: Clean install partitioning
I wrestled with this all Xmas day :) yes, I'm a Windows user too! Here's what I did - might help someone. Say you have four drives, and you want to install Fedora into a smallish partition on Drive 1, have the rest of Drive 1 for storage using Greyhole, and the other three drives all for storage. Al...

Re: Cannot access share when set to be in the storage pool
Hmmm - this seems to be the crux of the problem: "The module was compiled against SMB_VFS_INTERFACE_VERSION 25, current SMB_VFS_INTERFACE_VERSION is 27. Please recompile against the current Samba Version!" As a poor confused Windows user, what do I need to do? Have four lovely new 2TB disc...

Re: Cannot access share when set to be in the storage pool
I have studiously followed the above but not getting any joy :( as soon as shares are removed from the pool they become accessible. 1/ 2.6.35.9-64.fc14.x86_64 samba-3.5.6-71.fc14.x86_64 hda-greyhole-0.7.6-1.x86_64 2/ http://fpaste.org/CpOR/ http://fpaste.org/aw5M/ 3/ /dev/mapper/vg_athlon3700-lv_roo...

Re: SOLVED: cannot login to setup area after install (apolog
Still only seeing hda-platform-5.6.9-1, still will not install. Is 5.6.11 in the F14 repo? BTW, if you would prefer any problems with F14 installs to go somewhere specific - like the testers area - just say the word. I don't want to annoy you guys when I know the F14 release is still not production ...

Re: SOLVED: cannot login to setup area after install (apolog
No joy I'm afraid... apols for all the code! This is F14 by the way. Available Packages hda-platform.noarch 5.6.9-1 amahi [root@Athlon3700 ~]# yum update hda-platform Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, langpacks, presto, refresh-packagekit Adding en_US to language list Loading mirror speeds from cached ...

Re: SOLVED: cannot login to setup area after install (apolog
Have done the above, but the latest it finds is hda-platform-5.6.9-1, which gave me Ruby errors yesterday, and which it can't install anyway as says need a different version of greyhole.... and if I try and install *that* gives me more errors. Gah!
Any way to actually make it find the latest version?

Re: "uninitialized constant Translate" error on install
Why not go with the Fedora 12 Full DVD if you want the Gnome display? Well, as for why going for F14 over F12... an analogy would be installing Win 7 on a Windows box rather than XP. I'm not going to put an old system on a box when I know there is a newer (better?) choice. If I know F14 is going to...

Re: "uninitialized constant Translate" error on install
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I know about Amahi on F14 not being "production ready", but wasn't able to get the F12/Amahi Express CD to give me a display - wouldn't recognise my display adapter. SSH'ing into a headless box and using Terminal is very very hard if you've never used Linux befo...
