Re: Verify Replication status
It's done whenever a greyhole file system check is done..... typically it automatically runs at midnight. the command to manually run one (must be sudo / su ) greyhole --fsck Once it's done replicating your stuff across the second drive, you will see your storage space used up as though the folder(s...

Re: Any Paranoid Amahi users?
I'm somewhat new to the linux server thing as well, but I'm already familiar with the networking stuff and yet I have no good judgement on how many port holes is too many to punch in a router that sees the internet for Amahi's access to the web. It does concern me... and the Amahi team doesn't seem ...

Re: Easy pool
It looks like you may have done things the hard way and installed with LVM. I've found that's unnecessarily complex. When you re-install, make sure you use the non-LVM install method and be sure to mount at least one partition as "/var/hda/files/" which is supposed to be your dedicated sha...

Re: quick question for understanding how my drives are used
Also... should I have all my storage drives show as /var/hda/files/drives/drive# ?
I'd like to use my 1.5TB drive as a LZ itself. It's mounted as /var/hda/files/
Here's what I'm lookin at..

Re: Creating a second HDA to act as a "Backup server"
I'm pretty sure there's a wiki article about this but until I find that link.. You'll need to make a second HDA profile within your amahi login on the website. Setup and install as instructed.. - make sure the backup HDA has the DHCP server OFF permanently http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Turning_off...

Re: quick question for understanding how my drives are used
update.. So I read somewhere in the forums recently that the LZ (/hda/files) benefits from being outside the pool. I removed it from my pool of drives, so now I have 1.5 TB drive = /var/hda/files (NOT IN POOL) 1 TB drive = /var/hda/files/drive1 (in pool) 1 TB drive = /var/hda/files/drive2 (in pool) ...

Re: MY HDA Project: Automatic Disc Detection, Ripping & Enco
This idea reminds me and it pretty much identical to "VortexBox" which is a Fedora distro designed specifically for appliance use, and does a great job at it too. I've been running vortexbox within a Virtual machine to get its abilities. I've not yet tried it from my HDA yet, but it's wort...
