Re: Apps Supported in Amahi 8
I'm pretty much a novice with Linux. Do you have to have much experience to be a tester? Also, while testing, could I have the new amahi 8 server running side by side with my existing older amahi server?

CLOSED: Apps Supported in Amahi 8
Is there any information about when certain apps will be supported on Amahi 8? I acquired a new 64 bit machine to install Amahi 8 on, but have been waiting to install 8 until certain apps are out of beta on Fedora 21. One in particular that i'm interested in is Subsonic, which doesn't seem supported...

Re: Transmission Remote
I'm not going to try it. It definitely sounds to advanced for me, and there are too many what-ifs. I was just hoping there was some feature similar to Subsonic, with remote access built in. Now that i think of it though, subsonic runs mostly off of subsonic servers. i think. Thanks anyways.

CLOSED: Transmission Remote
I just purchased and installed Transmission to use on my Amahi server and have been using it for a couple of days now. I see some references online about being able to use the web gui remotely, but i don't see any such information in the settings of Transmission, in the wiki article or on the forums...

Re: Subsonic Update
That worked! I was easily able to update the Subsonic settings, and I was able to keep my previously downloaded podcasts too!
Thanks so much! Amahi is the best, and now I believe in bigfoot.

Re: Subsonic Update
I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and everything is working as normal! The only media that I don't have on one of my shares is the var/Podcast because I don't care about using it anywhere except in Subsonic, and that's where I created it. Could it solve some permission problems if i switched it ...

Re: Subsonic Update
Ok that actually makes a lot of sense to me and will likely solve my problem. I can understand why you would change that to be the username rather than root. After installation, Subsonic suggests running it as a dedicated user (and not as root) for security purposes. I have come close to attempting ...

Re: Subsonic Update
No, the username = [my root username] So that username should literally be "root" not "[my username]"? I'm a little unclear as to how to actually change the text of that file. I can view it using vi /etc/sysconfig/subsonic I saw this online basic command resource that seems to ex...
