Getting a lot of cifs errors. For example:
CIFS VFS: BAD_NETWORK_NAME: \\127.0.0.1\Pictures
CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -2
This happens for each share in the pool.

Re: Problem accessing shares on new Amahi 11 install
Thanks. I've rebooted it several times thinking that might help. Yes, this is a new install. I used the upgrade path when I went to Amahi 10 and it worked flawlessly. I first tried it here with 11 but it didn't work too well so I went with a clean install.

SOLVED: Problem accessing shares on new Amahi 11 install
I've just installed Amahi 11 and I've got a curious issue with shares and the Greyhole pool. I was previously running Amahi 10 without issues and got a wild hair to upgrade to 11. I have an HP microserver with a 1TB system drive and 3 1TB data drives in a greyhole pool. I followed the guidance to in...

Re: Amahi and Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition
I have a similar setup except I use Untangle instead of Sophos. I have the Untangle box connected to the modem and the Amahi box (and all other clients) connected via switch and wireless access point behind the Untangle box. You will need to have two NICs (or a dual) in your Sophos box. One for the ...

Re: CrashPlan for Home going away
I too have switched over to idrive. It's command line only on linux but seems to work pretty well. I'm using it to backup the HDA, Windows clients and a Mac.

Re: Has anyone purchased a Norton Core Router
I would agree. Send it back. I use Untangle for Home as my router solution. It and Amahi coexist well. I like the control, flexibility, and security it provides for my network and devices.

Don't give up! Your command syntax is wrong. Instead of
sudo su-
It should be
sudo su -
You need a space between su and -
That's why you're getting command not found.

Re: Ideal hardware setup for Amahi
One thing you might consider rather than on-the-fly transcoding is off-line transcoding using something like Handbrake on one of your more powerful machines. That way you could have a less powerful (i.e. power hungry) server that simply direct streams in whatever format you need. For example, I have...

Re: suggestions re backing up laptops to HDA
Since you're running Win 10 on your clients another really simple option for file backup is File History. You could define a share on the hda and use that as your File History destination.

Re: suggestions re backing up laptops to HDA
You might look at Crashplan. That's what I've been using for a few years now. I back up client PCs to the server then backup the server shares to Crashplan Central, their subscription-based online service. Works well for me.
