Re: Install was smooth, then trouble
I re-installed twice more. This last one I left run for 40 minutes before I initialized it. The apps are listed, but I hesitate to go forward if I still have a problem. I had to manually install the bind-utils again on the hda and the windows client still shows this when I do an nslookup: C:\Users\j...

Re: Install was smooth, then trouble
Since I was not too far in, I re-installed from scratch. Now I've run in to a few problems. First, how do I bring back up the Amahi install code window if I accidentally click on the background not the little window? I've had to re-install three times because of that (I know, the fault is mine, just...

Install was smooth, then trouble
First, I have to say the install of Amahi 7.1 from the express CD could not have been easier. A few clicks and the server was up. Cool. I then installed a few apps and the Fusion repos. Still good. I decided to try one of the apps I could not under Fedora 14 and 6.1. Multicraft for Amahi. After I pu...

Re: CPU preference AMD or Intel
Hmmm. this is about changing base level hardware with the HDA. I was wondering specifically about swapping underlying CPUs and it's affect on virtualized hardware. I believe some of the virtualization instruction sets are different with Intel or AMD, and I did not know if that affected the VMs that ...

Re: Server hardware queries for New Amahi 7 server-Proxmox
Thank you. I will keep an eye out then for a few more drives for my VMs. I have combed through the wiki, but I also appreciate discussion that I can find here in the forums. Sgtfoo you are clearly the expert here and I'm glad for your help.

Best and simplest way to benchmark an HDA
I am about to move from a bare metal HDA to a virtual HDA. I have conducted various data transfer and copy tests and recorded the results. Since I would like to know all the gain/loss of moving from my current HDA to the new virtual HDA I was wondering if anyone had an easy to use benchmark that I c...

Re: Server hardware queries for New Amahi 7 server-Proxmox
I am also about to embark on a Hypervisor setup and have similar questions, but I'm not really sure of what I am reading. I had imagined this setup; 1 - 3TB 7200 RPM drive for Hypervisor OS and all my VMS 3 or more drives for Data storage. Either RAID or Greyhole (currently using 3 x 2TB in Greyhole...

Re: CPU preference AMD or Intel
Does anyone know if I will have a problem later moving over my VMs if I start on an Intel processor and then later move the containers on to an AMD CPU?

Re: Greyhole on Amahi 7
This may have been answered elsewhere, but I have not been able to find it. If I manually install Greyhole on Amahi 7 today. Will the GUI and other integration tools work with it when you are able to release the app for Amahi 7? I do not mind putting in the work to manually get Greyhole running on a...

Re: CPU preference AMD or Intel
Thank you. I have been reading the other threads for Pro/Cons on the hypervisor to use. I will continue to go there for more advice. I was focused on AMD vs Intel for the Pro/Con list. However, I'm getting the feel that it may not matter too much as I will not have that many VMs running. I am going ...
