Re: Change default port of Amahi's web-interface
How are you trying to pull up your amahi page after changing to port 8080? I'm not a linux expert either, so I'm sorry if this sounds like the obvious and you have tried it, but have you tried username.yourhda.com:8080 or your ip address example: 192.168.1.1:8080 Well, I'm trying it locally so I'm ...

Change default port of Amahi's web-interface
I'm trying to move some of my web sites to my Amahi server and that looks like it's working well. However, while I can use a ServerAlias (wiki.yourusername.yourhda.com) to make certain sites answer certain web calls, if I don't use any alias (yourusername.yourhda.com), the login page for Amahi's web...

Re: HardDrive config
Thanks for the relpies On the typical system, the data being dumped to the server has to sit in the shared folder for a while before Greyhole begins to deal with it. For that reason, if you have a lot of data to dump at first, you'll need a large system drive. The last install I did was for my budd...

Re: New Hard Drives failing
As an aside I now have wised up on RMA’s, with a half month turn around to receive the replacement, the 30 day return period ticks away from the original invoice date, its an open policy, but I am just going to do refunds and reorder if still want the product, just my opinion and experience. I'm su...

Re: New Hard Drives failing
Another thing to look at is the BIOS. I've had new boards fail miserably until a updated the BIOS version. Some of these newer HDDs have controller boards on them that give older motherboards a fit! Try updating the BIOS and see if these newer HDDs work better. Also, look at power. I know a UPS has ...

Re: HardDrive config
Question at the moment is should I have a smaller drive for Operating system, SWAP, Greyhole LZ, etc? (say 320GB or 500GB) Or should I just partition a larger drive (1.5 or 2Tb) with the space for the OS and use the rest for greyhole storage? Generally speaking, the OS (Fedora) doesn't require much...

Re: Quick DNS & DHCP question
I was just curious...it's not like it's breaking anything per se`. I too am waiting for F14. (Any ETA on that?) Obviously all my machines (Windows and Ubuntu) have hostnames and I figured they'd show up in there. No worries though. If you figure it'll be different in the new release, I'll wait to se...

Quick DNS & DHCP question
Just curious really.... Why, when using the HDA for DHCP & DNS, does DHCP fill up with: h111.home.com 192.168.10.111 h112.home.com 192.168.10.112 h113.home.com 192.168.10.113 h114.home.com 192.168.10.114 ... It's like DHCP/DNS is handing out host-names as well. In fact, when I load new Linux mac...

Re: Weird problem with home.com
Hello, One possible solution would be to install the OpenVPN ALS app. It is a clientless VPN and will allow you to create web-forwards to your apps. It has worked for me in the past and provides an extra layer of security between the outside world and your HDA. You can port forward the OpenVPN app ...

Re: Weird problem with home.com
Hello, See http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Hosting_a_website for how to access apps from outside your network. You will notice this is not as simple as forwarding port 80. There are also security implications that need to be considered as well. If we can be of further assistance, please let us know...
