Re: How do I edit the Remote Desktop Preferences via termina
When missiles and nukes fail, shoot a low orbit ion cannon at it... in other words blow it up with the find command. Search all possible locations vnc could be. su cd / #search file names for vnc find / -type f 2> /dev/null | grep -i 'vnc' > ~/vnc_file_names #search contents of files for vnc find / ...

Re: Videos5 and Squeeze Server do not work (refer to home.co
I reinstalled Fedora & Amahi, and changed the domain to wkml.nl (which I own). I still can't reach the squeeze and videos5 settings pages from within my network. I can reach http://hda perfectly, but then I'm stuck. http://squeeze.hda or http://videos5.hda both don't work. What url should I use...

Someone else will have to answer that because I don't have those apps available for my Fedora 14 server.

Re: Videos5 and Squeeze Server do not work (refer to home.co
home.com is the default DNS domain. If you visit hda.home.com you'll see that you're at your HDA.
This is normal.

Re: VPN questions
Who is your ISP? There's also the possibility that they have you on a heavily firewalled network. It would be a good idea to email your ISP and ask them in case it is them blocking you instead of your router.

Glad it worked for you. And you don't have to feel bad, I wasn't scolding you. I was just letting you know in case you didn't realize.

Re: Torrents and Greyhole
Thanks for the great reply. I'm actually a software developer (that hasn't used linux, o.0) so the idea of pointers and stuff makes sense. As for the terminal, I'm okay with it... I get the general idea, a command, some switches, etc... I just usually have to look up what the commands do when I see...

Re: VPN questions
Did you make sure that you're forwarding UDP and not TCP? Also take it out of DMZ! You don't want the internet to be able to access your shares or HDA. Granted it's running Linux but why take the chance? Does your HDA show up as being installed in amahi.org control panel? If not then we need to sort...

Re: Fedora Users vs. Amahi Users
Have you started using Amahi configurations for storage and Apps? If not then I would say go into the Fedora user management and delete all of the users except for the one you want. Then reinstall Amahi with your install code from the terminal using this command: hda-install -f [YOUR INSTALL CODE] I...
