How are you attempting to shut down the daemon? You might need to remove it from monitoring by the watchdog using the web interface, then manually using the service amahi-transmission stop command.

I don't have an android phone, or know much about this app, but to correct the problem with transmission overwriting the settings, make sure you stop the transmission daemon first. After you make and save your changes, restart the service. That worked for me when I was fixing the default permissions...

I am using version 1.2.6-24. From the Amahi Netboot Main menu, I select Clonezilla, then select Clonezilla again. I then get prompted for a language and select English. Next I select "Don't touch keymap" it's after this stage that I see a bunch of commands scroll thru. The last line says: ...
