Re: UPS support in Amahi 8 / Fedora 21?

I have received my UPS, so now I'm trying to learn how to make the shutdown software work on Amahi/Fedora. I've learned that install using .deb is not readily supported by Fedora. Then I found this site with software packages in .rpm format: http://www.cyberpower-eu.com/products/software/pp_linux.ht...

UPS support in Amahi 8 / Fedora 21?

I was about to buy the CyberPower CP1000PFCLCD UPS for my HP ML310e Gen8 V2 server running Amahi 8, but then I realized that I should first check whether there's any compatible software to be able to perform automatic server shutdown when the battery gets low. I cannot find any definite information ...

Re: How to encrypt data?

Thank you. Some more Linux newbie questions: I am thinking through a strategy to protect my data, so I'd like to validate my assumptions. The data on the server under Amahi is protected from external access by Fedora/Linux user permissions etc., but there's nothing preventing anyone from physically ...

How to encrypt data?

Does Amahi provide any tools/apps to encrypt a hard drive? I couldn't find any references on the wiki or forums.
I'm looking for something like BitLocker for Windows.

Thanks.

Re: Questions about moving shares and locating files

OK, I resolved the issue. During my initial setup, I must have first mounted my new share to /dev/sda3 and copied files there and then when I rebooted the server the correct fstab mounting points were created, which mounted my new share correctly to the partition on the second hard drive. So, the fi...

Re: Questions about moving shares and locating files

Nothing there except the 4.4GB of files I just copied there to test. I don't know how I got there, but it started with exactly the same situation as reported by this user here . That is I followed all tutorials and ended up with files going to the wrong drive and mounting point even when the share p...

Re: Questions about moving shares and locating files

This is my disks snapshot from the Disk Wizard: disks.PNG When I navigate to /var/tmp and run du command, I get 4 files with 20KB total. I am running this as root, so it shouldn't matter that they may belong to a different user etc., correct? Now, I'm hesitant moving other files to the server as I n...

Re: Questions about moving shares and locating files

That 77GB showing in sda3 is not in /var/hda/files. But I did drop those files into /var/hda/files/drives/DATA previously. The locations both are part of the / partition which is sda3. Did you check permissions? There is a permissions reset on the Shares Tab for each share. That might help. As you ...
