Re: Merger with clearos??

I recently stumbled across www.contribs.org - SME server. It does a webGUI for a CentOS based server... it's built more purposefully for Small to Medium Enterprise use. I would image they could also contribute to the Amahi experience, and vice versa.

Re: Server hardware queries for New Amahi 7 server-Proxmox

More tutorials can be made, but for each person's wants and needs, there are particular changes to be made to the process. Using virtualization of any kind with any server system demands that it not be a novice user, because in many cases, you're not following defaults for much of the setup/prep/ins...

Re: Server hardware queries for New Amahi 7 server-Proxmox

Keep in mind, Proxmox creates a "local" storage logical partition for VM images/"drives". As it lives within LVM, and it's all optimized for storage for multiple VMs, making it a RAID array for both/either speed/redundancy is good to do if you can afford the drives/storage space....

Re: Adding new drive as sda1?

sda1 is usually the first OS drive mapping.
Every partition or mapping after sda1 should rise by number or letter... otherwise you might conflict with something already mapped elsewhere.

Re: Full replacement for my QNAP ... and something on top :D

Many of those requests can be handled without Amahi even involved, but Amahi provides the convenience of facilitating much of the underlying stuff, such as Windows shares/ fileserver. 1: Raid 1 (2x1TB-Drives) can be done via hardware or software (OS installation can start a raid array) 2: Printserve...

Re: Greyhole on Amahi 7

Yea that's the setup I had that I was getting trouble with... but only as I wanted to simplify it and expand my available storage for my other VMs. as for the rest of my input, I put it in here... https://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3895&p=26674#p26674 I may be somewhat partial, bu...

Re: dos and don'ts .. my edition

I'm adding to this thread as I've come across new experience and learned a few things and software is changing... I wish I could avoid some of my opinion, but the thing about greyhole is it abstracts your data with symlinks all over the place and with the complexity of virtualization on top of that,...
