Re: "random" crashes
The indicated site states that bridged mode can be used as well. After trying the other alternatives on that page (written for Fedora 14) I can say, that i can make it work only with Bridged Adapter setting. I really only know the very basics of a network. Hence, I am not at all qualified to update ...

Hi By now managed to install Amahi 7 an have Greyhole and MiniDLNA up and running - the minimum requirements I have. System information: - Hostsystem: Xubuntu 14.04 LTS - Amahi 7 (64bit) runs on Virtualbox 4.3.10 (from official repos) - DHCP is managed by the router Problem: The server has what appe...

Re: Amahi DLNA Server: no logs, no fildes.db but service is running...
OK thanks. I found the problem: There was an AirPort Extreme "hidden" in the network which had DHCP on an managed all the leases. I turned it off and voilá everything is working properly
Thanks again for your efforts and your time. It is most appreciated!

Re: Amahi DLNA Server: no logs, no fildes.db but service is running...
Had a bit of a delay... back on the project now. I have listed the content of the minidlna.conf file below. Yet I'm curious about the following statement: Good chance the wiki is outdated, therefore the log location would be in /var/logs/. I checked my instance and there is no log file. Probably an ...

Thanks, The output of notify max_user_watches [8192] is low or close to the number of used watches [7] and I do not have permission to increase this limit. Please do so manually by writing a higher value into /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_watches. was missing the "[7]" after "used wat...

Re: Amahi DLNA Server: no logs, no fildes.db but service is running...
The update did not do the trick. By now I also managed to temporarily have Amahi being the DHCP Server. There was no change in the situation. Still no /var/log/minidlna.log nor a <minidlna> folder under /tmp/. Looking at the situation it's a bit weird: I do have a <minidlna> folder in /var/log/ but ...

Hi Bigfoot
Do you mean updates (no I don't)? I thought Amahi should not be updated due to compatibility considerations...?
Best regards
Akrea
Do you mean
Code: Select all
yum update
Best regards

Re: Cannot connect to mirrors (yum)
Thanks bigfoot
Your hint led me to the idea of turning on the hda DNS even with the potential of conflicting with the existing DNS. But it worked an solved the problem. Yet I may need additional help on the DLNA. But I will start a separate thread on that one if needed.
Again thanks for your help!
