I recently setup amahi on a plug and I'm no trying to access my hda from outside my LAN by VPN. From the amahi.org/user control panel, it shows that my vpn connection is active. I found the problem. I discovered that the path to the share names in the dashboard did not match the path to the share names as noted on an hda console. Fixed them in the dashboard and I'm good to go.

But not being able to get in to the shares thru the file manager or extplorer because of the password challenge and subsequent error code are not normal and that's worth some time on IRC. Right?

I'll admit to being thick. So what you're saying is I should be able to reach the shares and the apps from any machine on my LAN by logging into the hda (at http://hda or http://hda.oakwoodroad.net) and going to the shares or apps tabs and clicking on the link? Since I'm not able to do either, then ...

More progress...http://hda:10000 does allow me to login to webmin as root, but not as another admin-enabled user.

Any thoughts about what config file needs changing?

I just realized that even though I can get into extplorer, I can't actually do anything. If I try to write files to any of the drives, I get a "File upload failed." error, so maybe I'm still not getting appropriate access.
