Re: Gateway difficulty

Given the disparity in the network ranges, I'm inclined to believe that the router is in between the modem and the rest of your network. Typically a modem will NOT have firewall, etc. whereas a typical home router will. In this case, the router IP is your "gateway" address. Basically, all ...

Re: SMB changes in Amahi 10?

Quick note -- last weekend someone ha an issue with shares that was reminiscent of this. We could not get to the bottom of it using TeamViewer and such, however, it was clear that Windows 10 may be at issue here (possibly with some bug in our side -- not ruling that out), because small changes in se...

Re: SMB changes in Amahi 10?

That would help. If you could email your availability window to support at amahi (or if you come by IRC mention cpg -- http://talk.amahi.org) and hopefully we can find a window to debug this. Saturday afternoon (Pacific US time) may be best for me.

Re: SMB changes in Amahi 10?

Hi guys, from the reports and what you have researched, my "gut feeling" is that there is a bug here. Many times that's not the case, even though it may seem like that to other. Now, unfortunately, it's hard to tell if there is just one or perhaps more than one, or some combination of bugs...

Re: Installing apps is puzzling

Thanks for the feedback. We will get to improving the install experience sooner or later. We do feel the frustration that some users experience. This is in part why we try to reach out and understand things more in depth. Maybe we should not allow anything above .99. However, some people have strong...

Re: Installing apps is puzzling

Well, there was a thread attempting help by email, the last one extremely detailed, so I am not sure why the tone of this email is slanted in the way it is. Repeating ... Your HDA did not come online because it had incorrect or otherwise blocked access to the internet. This is 100% clear. Without th...

Re: NFS app - expanded capability

Not a bad idea, though NFS is really decaying in use (I think it's surprising anyone is using it -- not saying it's bad -- when it works, it's solid enterprise-level quality, but it can be very moody, which could be why people sidelined it). Maybe file a bug for it in our bug tracker (under platform...

Re: After Action Report #1: TOPIC: rE-iNSTALL or Re-Install?

Just to let you know "we are much better". There was an interesting issue with the Amahi automation. the power went down at the house and the server did not have an IP configuration... when the power came back on. (It was off long enough for the UPS's to drain...) did you guys go down? Th...

Re: hda-install unattended flag?

This is probably not worthy of adding to the wiki (too obscure/rare, and it's self documenting). I think it's it's hda-install <options> CODE i.e. usage: hda-install [options] YOUR_INSTALL_CODE options: -f: force -r: exclude ruby install -h: reconfigure httpd -s: reconfigure samba -d: reconfigure db...

Re: hda-install unattended flag?

hda-install without any argument gives some helpful usage info. Unfortunately, it looks like we used -h for httpd reconfiguration and we have -r for some arcane ruby exclusion, which may have been a good option for rebooting at the end. Maybe use -y option (for answering "yes" at the end a...
