Re: Announcing: Amahi Netboot pre-release
Hello, Have you gotten all the Fedora 12 and Amahi updates? Is this Fedora 12 full DVD or Express CD? Is it 32 or 64 bit? I installed with the DVD. 64 bit. I did the install exactly per the instructions. No updates. In fact that my be another bug. I noticed that there was no "Add/Remove Progra...

Re: Announcing: Amahi Netboot pre-release
I am having trouble with installing apps needing netboot. Yesterday something killed my entire mysql installation so I decided to wipe the hard drive and do a clean install. The install was fine, and on booting other PCs on the network I see that netboot has been installed (yay!) and the 2 default n...

Ampache does not work properly with web-apps proxy
I can successfully connect to my Amahi box over the internet. Jinzora works perfectly from remote computers over the internet but Jinzora will not see my video files so I use Ampache for video. While Ampache works perfectly over the local LAN, it does not work over the internet. Every time I try to ...

Re: Ready for testing: CrashPlan
So perhaps a dual approach then.... HDA is the onsite master for backups. With the clients doing a backup offsite to crashplan central? I am trying to cover my data incase some explodes so any suggestions are welcome. Pingjockey - My suggestion to you would be to build a second Linux box and use rs...

Re: Ready for testing: CrashPlan
I like crashplan, but my gripe is that it seems to require a persistent internet connection.
Has anyone tested if scheduled backups will run (client to HDA, local network) if the internet goes down?

Re: Ability to integrate an app "update" option.
How about an option when removing an app to leave data intact? This would let us uninstall, then put in the new version of the app, and still have the data + settings. Is that inviting trouble? Maybe a way to "back up" and "restore" an apps data and settings? If I had a lot of ap...

Re: Damn Small Linux - no mouse
he he he I really don't want to even install parted magic. Too dangerous to have on a working system (for me, ha ha). I run gparted live from a dedicated USB stick but with 5.5 TB on line I haven't had to use it in a while. I was really looking for an idiot proof live linux with only very basic capa...

Yes, and I'm glad you mentioned it because I wasn't sure.
ReDo Backup/Restore is SWEET.
It works *great* on the same client machine (old P4 with Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS). I did a backup/-wipe-disk/restore with it last night as a test.

Re: Damn Small Linux - no mouse
I guess I should have been clearer. When I said booting without choices, I meant that when I select DSL from the netboot menu, I wanted DSL to fully boot without "playing 20 questions" every time. What I look for in a live Linux is simplicity. The fewer choices the better for me. Plain van...
