Re: Installation is now impossible on clean Ubuntu installs

Of course I followed the instructions. This isn't my first HDA. Besides, how hard is run wget and then the Amahi installer script? That's the only two steps there are for Ubuntu once the OS is loaded. And yes, I did give you enough information to replicate this. All you have to do is go to Ubuntu, d...

Installation is now impossible on clean Ubuntu installs

***Edit*** That guy was being a frustrated jerk and should have stayed calm and attached detailed logs and been professional. Don't be that guy. Apparently this was caused by some thrash in the Ubuntu mirrors and the issue can't be replicated here anymore and the OP is going to shut up now. A...

downside to disabling DNS and DHCP server, using dynamic IP?

Title pretty much says it all. I would very much like a greatly simplifed system as an option.

Re: Apps stay in Beta far too long

I understand by having apps in beta people are more likely to sign up for for the pro and ninja plans to gain access I seriously hope that's not their plan. Check out their facebook wall. I added a post on this subject. Maybe if they get enough other comments/likes/etc they'll take the hint. I'm ge...

Apps stay in Beta far too long

There's is stuff marked "Beta" that has been marked that way since I set up my first HDA in 2009. If they install, then make them public! You need a firm time limit for "Beta" apps. Limit "support" to installation issues only, send people to the respective application s...

VPN can't connect from work

The Barracuda web filter at work blocks the "myhda.com" domain so I can't connect.

Otherwise I can VPN just fine from a variety of machines.

Is there a workaround?

Re: web-apps proxy

Is Web-Apps Proxy supposed to be working in Amahi 6.0? It's not available in the app store and I can't run my apps remotely. I can't use the VPN remotely because my employer's firewall blocks all but port 80. I've been a longtime Amahi user and avid fan and promote Amahi a lot and I have to say this...

Amahi crashed for no apparent reason

I was streaming media from the server to my entertainment system like I've done thousands of times, when the server simply disappeared from the network. SSH didn't respond, and the file shares were unreachable also. Attempting to get into the Amahi Dashboard got nothing but DNS and "site not fo...

Re: Last call for logo! Please voice your opinion!

Stack. End the voting now. ha ha just kidding

It is the only one that *at a glance* says "networking and storage".

Also the original Stack logo had typography as part of the design. You absolutely can not drop the typography. That's essential.

Re: Announcing: Amahi Netboot pre-release

Can I ask - why is this a show stopper for you? You can get the package kit back with this, probably: yum -y install gnome-packagekit Thanks, that did restore the update tool. It's a showstopper if I need an update but have no way to manually force an update or even check for others. It's a kind of...
