Attempting to fix greyhole performance issues...
So I did a fresh install of amahi on Ubuntu, and I'm at the point of getting my system back up and running. I copied some files back onto some shares... no problems. However, accessing the files via the network seems to be a huge problem. The files are getting served so slow, that windows explorer t...

Catastrophic Data Loss... Not sure how this happened
Evidently two nights ago ALL of my movies on my greyhole share got WIPED. I had hundreds of Movies and obviously many many tv episodes. I have a rather large log file that looks like this for so many files... Jan 15 22:17:17 6 unlink: Now working on task ID 634331: unlink Movies/TV Shows/Futurama/Fu...

OpenVPN no longer grants access to the rest of my network?
Recently upgraded from the Fedora 14 version of Amahi to the Ubuntu version. So for the last 2 years on the F14 version, should I VPN back into the home network from work using HDAConnect on my Win 7 laptop, I was able to use MS Remote desktop to remote into my desktop at home (also win 7). I could ...

Greyhole not making the extra copies?
I apologize for my ignorance, as I wade into linux... Been running amahi on fedora 14 for a couple years, and it's been excellent. Wanted to upgrade to the ubuntu version, and also was adding larger disks to my pool (3TB). So I decided to start fresh. Backup up all files from previous greyhole pools...

Inconsistent Streaming for 1 file
Here's a quick rundown of my setup. Amahi running on a core i3 box. Greyhole DLNA server. Boxee Box to play all the stuff, wireless 802.11g/n For whatever reason, I have one Blu-Ray ripped movie (x264 in an mkv) that seems to need constant re-buffering. It'll play alright for a couple minutes, then ...

Re: vnstat - no access from non-host computers?
Thanks, solved the problem. Turns out there were still some lingering router settings that slipped by.

Re: vnstat - no access from non-host computers?
Have you configured the DNS settings on each computer to point to your server? I just checked my settings. Everything is set to automatic. And since the Amahi server is the DHCP server, the DNS is also set to its address (The IP of the amahi server is 192.168.0.10, and that's what I get from ipconf...

Re: vnstat - no access from non-host computers?
Well, funny you ask. WebVNC worked in much the same manner. Good for like a day, then not working at all.
I haven't reconfigured any of the computers dns entries. I will change this evening when I get home this afternoon.

Re: vnstat - no access from non-host computers?
I didn't replace home.com with anything, so vnstat.home.com should be what's left, and that doesn't work either. I use openDNS on the router, so I get the "page not found" open dns page. I do allow the server to act as the DHCP server, I don't recall configuring any DNS setting at all howe...

vnstat - no access from non-host computers?
I installed vnstat as per instructions, and it was all working great. Now I cannot access http://vnstat unless I'm on the actual amahi box. It is still tracking the network activity though. Any ideas? Could this in any way be related to "home.com" actually going to an internet page rather ...
