Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

I have installed the app but I cannot get to it. It seems that the DNS is not changing. I run the command (hda-change-dns ipblahblah ipblahblah) in terminal as root, it says the the change was successful and HDA service is restarted. Then go to Ethernet Device GUI the DNS is still at its old setting...

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

How do I get OpenVPN ALS for Amahi? I noticed that it is on the net as an app for Amahi but it is not listed as a easy install app on the server dashboard.

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

Success! I changed the DNS through terminal using the above and can still access the Internet. One definitely has to use Amahi's linux commands so that Fedora and Amahi are both changed. Yes, your suggestion makes sense. I will be out of the office for the next few days. I will have to try it after ...

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

Thanks for the details. I need that. I just wanted to post a few details that may help others who want to try this: This page (http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Changing_your_DNS_provider) says: In some cases you may need to use the full path for hda-change-dns example: /usr/bin/hda-change-dns 208.67....

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

Look what I just found:

http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Slave_mode
This page says:
Then the slaves can be "chained" .. by using:

hda-change-dns IP-OF-THE-MASTER IP-OF-THE-MASTER
Where and how would I plug in this?

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

You are exactly right ... the apps do not work correctly. I also cannot get to them by means of the "long name." If I try to access the servers off site I end up as Server #1 when I go to the dns name of Server #2. Is there some sort of portforward adjustment that I could do to fix that on...

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

access apps via the long name
Can you clarify by an example? How do you access "Ajaxplorer" (for instance) by its long name?

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

Ok, so what problems could I have if I do this: Leave Server#1 as it is with Fedora 14 with Amahi installed [I have also turned of DHCP and am allowing my router to do that job.] Re-install Server#2 as it is with Fedora 14 with Amahi installed [Turning off DHCP] Both servers have different hostnames...

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

Here is what I have done (as a root user): - I downloaded the patch. - I edited the patch, plugging in Server#1's domain name and IP address. - I ran the patch on Server#2 and it reported no errors. Apparently everything was successfully changed. The result was that the desktop icons for the Amahi c...

Re: 2 Amahi, One Network

I looked up this patch in the link that was provided above: *** /usr/bin/hdactl 2010-06-16 21:55:38.000000000 -0400 --- /usr/bin/hdactl.new 2010-08-03 07:49:22.083756431 -0400 *************** *** 255,260 **** --- 255,265 ---- printf $hda "\tallow-update { key ddnskey; };\n"; printf $hda &q...
