Re: Hardware questions

if you look at my signature, yopu can see what atom board i got,
Fedora (which is the base for Amahi) works well on it.
depending on what you do with it (i also run a mediacenter on it, with 5 clients) you should not have a problem with it.

Re: Looking for a WHS alternative, please convince me

don't worry, we'll get you some day. :) This is the line that worries me, i'll get back to that later in this post. First off, "Convince me" is never a good thing to post, yeah perhaps it works with the ubuntu n00bs, but many other devs will most likely ignore a post like that. Obviously,...

my roadmap view..

OK, since there's a roadmap post somewhere in this forum, let me try to give my views, as both SOHO and n00b user. Version 5: Stability - iron out the bugs. Performance - optimize the code for better performance (is that possible?). Security - completely lock down the setup tabs for ordinairy users....

also:
lets first make sure all the backup systems are working.
backup complete clients, media folders, documents, whatever..
also implement a way to backup the Server itself, in case of general failure.

Re: The Official Roadmap Draft for Amahi 5 and later versions..

the main thing i never hear anything aboput is uniformity (is that a word?) We have wonderfull apps! WONDERFULL management tools.. i truely think Amahi made my networking management a lot easier.. but one thing that didnt make it easier.. every app has its own layout, every tool has its own layout.....

Re: What to do with emails to 'root'

Sendmail is enabled by default. this is due to linux's original nature.. i believe it was orriginally done to notify the Administrator (root) to be notified of certain things, like systems errors, user errors, or brekin attempts. as such, this is not so much an Amahi issue as it is a linux issue. ev...

i imagine languagepacks will be added in the future just like apps do ;)
one single click!
or perhaps even better.. during amahi install itself!

Re: Amahi "Rawhide"

This morning i had to reinstall my HTPC I installed Fedora rawhide on it, because its the only distro that works with my intel based video chipset (namely the S-Video would fail on other distro's) i then installed amahi, using the F11 repository, and guess what? IT WORKS :D i have a working F12 wit...
