Re: can't get into apps
OK...some progress. For extplorer, it was indeed not knowing the correct username/password combo. I am now able to get to it. However for webmin, using root, admin, or the admin-enabled user with a variety of passwords still leaves me with the Proxy error and unable to login. Recall, that I get the ...

Re: can't get into apps
Well, I forgot to release/renew. Need to try that. In Computer properties, went to change computer name, changed the workgroup name, then clicked "More", where I'm asked to "Chnage primary DNS suffix when domain membership changes", to which I entered OAKWOODROAD.NET. After click...

Re: can't get into apps
Still no luck on either WinClient or LinClient. Focusing on only the WinClient for the moment, I changed the workgroup name to OAKWOODROAD and the set the name option so that it now appends OAKWOODROAD.NET to the computer name in the networking dialog. I can login to hda using a non-root user accoun...

Re: can't get into apps
According to the hda "Settings" -> "Shares", the hda is a member of "WORKGROUP". The smbclient on my linux boxes also indicate "WORKGROUP", as does the Win7 box. The hda DNS domain is oakwoodroad.net. I can putty to the hda with username root and a password, b...

Re: can't get into apps
No I'm trying from within the LAN. It didn't surprise me when I was challenged getting into webmin, but it happens with extplorer as well. Happens on both Win7 and Linux LAN members.
Also trying to access hda shares (documents, music, etc.) leads to a password challenge.

Re: can't get apps to run
mattwire You were right. Removing the *.jnl files and restarting named solved the problem. Thanks for pointing out the solution.
I can now access http://<appname>, and http://<appname>.<domainname>
I'm a happy camper!
