changing network config

Hi it's me again In this post it seemed that I found a solution to the problem. Yet it was only "temporary". Similar problems returned after a day. Now, the DNS problem is kind of on/off. I still think there must be a solution to that problem. There are too many people working with amahi A...

Re: Weird DNS problem: some devices work some do not

A friend of mine an I were working on the network yesterday evening. I think we found a solution. Indeed this problem is related to this specific router for sure but I suspect it affects all customers of UPC that are using a router from the company: It seems that you cannot turn off the DNS. We figu...

Re: Weird DNS problem: some devices work some do not

Thanks for your hint. I have deleted all DNS entries on the router. --> no change The other option of setting 192.168.0.10 (Amahi Server) twice (primary and secondary DNS server) is prevented by the software of the router. Secondary has to be different from the first. Therefore, primary 192.168.0.10...

Re: Weird DNS problem: some devices work some do not

Thanks for the hint the output on the guest system does look OK - according to my humble knowledge: [root@localhost sbin]# ip address 1: lo:<LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue pfifo_fast state UP group defailt qlen 1000 link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00 inet 127.0.0.1/...

Re: Weird DNS problem: some devices work some do not

Please apologize. Those parameters are from my host system. On my guest system (Amahi 7) I did not touch a thing. How do I check system settings on a headless fedora? I wasn't able to find a command like 'ifconfig' in fedora (seems to be an easy task, yet I cannot manage to find something). If i can...

Re: DNS does not work

Thanks for the info. I have invested another half a day to work on the problem. Unfortunately, without success. Have you checked out the Amahi Virtualized in the wiki? While it should run in a VM just fine, it's primarily designed to run on a single machine as a stand alone. Yes I did. Yet, I can gi...

Re: Weird DNS problem: some devices work some do not

Did you disable DHCP on the router and/or VM? Router yes VM not really. Did some research and found this link dealing with /etc/dnsmasq.conf Is that dnsmasq.conf related to Amahi functionality in any way or can I just "turn it off"? Do you have any experience with it? Also have you tried ...

SOLVED: Weird DNS problem: some devices work some do not

Hi I recently set up my Amahi 7 using qemu-kvm instead of virtualbox (crash problems). Ever since I use qemu-kvm as the virtualization platform the server never crashed again :-). That solved another really strange problem appeared: some devices cannot connect to the internet because of DNS problems...

SOLVED: Re: "random" crashes

I think I got the problem sorted out. The Server has now been running for almost 24 hours and all functions were used. No crash :-) The problem seems to be that I used the same physical network connection for the host and the guest simultaneously. What I did, that apparently solved the problem: - On...
