Re: Plex install worked in Amahi 7 on Fedora 19, one small p

Hmmm. This problem has stopped for me, but I am unable to pinpoint why. Recently my Plex server went down. I'm not sure why but no amount of restarting the service or restarting my whole HDA could bring it back. I then un-installed the Plex media server through the Amahi apps web interface. Rebooted...

Re: Plex install worked in Amahi 7 on Fedora 19, one small p

Cool. I'm happy with my work around for now. It works for me and I no longer worry about not being able to connect to my Plex. I also have been restarting my HDA frequently, as I'm refining some other parts of the server. Glad to know this may be actually resolved by pursuing why it is not loading w...

Re: Plex install worked in Amahi 7 on Fedora 19, one small p

That makes sense. Since the proxy pass is failing anyway, it's just picking up the index.html file from the working directory. It is not enough to just restart the service and nothing else. It is enough to add the file, and restart the service. At least with my install (Amahi 7.1 express on Fedora 1...

Re: Plex install worked in Amahi 7 on Fedora 19, one small p

I made two changes on my HDA so I could launch Plex from the dashboard. These changes are completely a workaround and I would not recommend them. However, they do work. First I found my ####-plexms.conf file in /etc/httpd/conf.d/ I then opened that file up in a text editor like vi or nano and remove...

Re: Tips for getting a GUI for Amahi 7.1 express

I did, but I do not have access to an Ubuntu system right now, and that section would be much stronger with instructions for both. At least it is fresh for Fedora 19 and above.

Re: Tips for getting a GUI for Amahi 7.1 express

For anyone who would like to add a GUI to Amahi 7.1 on Fedora 19 after install. These steps will get you there: First install a whole graphical environment. You can list group installs available by using: sudo yum group list I chose GNOME so I issued: yum -y group install "GNOME Desktop" I...

Re: Amahi on Acer H341 possible?

I ran Amahi 6.x on Fedora 14 on an Acer H341 for a year and a half. It was an excellent box. I had all the bays full of 2 TB drives and used greyhole on three of them. Worked like a charm for file sharing/dhcp/dns/small jobs. I eventually moved to a stronger proc and a custom box since I wanted it t...

Re: Copying files between shares brings my HDA down

I'm going to chalk this up to a bad NIC. It sure might be something else, but my NIC was cheap and removing it seems to bring up speed and a few other issues I was having. I have not tried to copy between shares from a client though. I need the machine to stay up for a while.

Tips for getting a GUI for Amahi 7.1 express

I tried following the wiki (https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/GUI_Install_for_Express_CD) and it is not working. I started with a fresh install of Amahi 7.1 express on Fedora 19. Everything seems OK. Installing apps, setting up shares, adding users, it all works. I then tried: yum -y install @gnome-...
