Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

Mainly Duh moments for me!! Sorry - just re-read my post and noticed I wasn't very clear! It's the CCTV box I'd like to be able to access externally either via it's apps or via a browser login. I've set it up with it's own DNS on Amahi so I can access it internally, pity I can't seem to figure out h...

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

I had a Eureka moment earlier on the way home from work! I think I know what the problem is!! Typing username.yourhda.com into an outside network browser didn't redirect me to the setup screen, it directed me to my CCTV system!! I forgot I hard-IP'd it on it's own config page (due to the Belkin's in...

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

Yep - just the thought of spending extra cash and having more redundant equipment around isn't appealing!!

Maybe that's another project for Amahi - to get the server to handle the firewall and routing leaving the router to be an access point only!!!

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

I'm starting to dislike this one - now I know why it was the cheapest 802.11ac router on the market! At least the signal strength is better than the router the ISP gives out! Why Belkin thought it would be a good idea to block ports inside the network, meaning to open them you need to port-forward i...

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

Apart from Port Forwarding, I can't see how I can get everything to communicate via miniDLNA through the firewall. Also, I don't want to expose ports as well. I'm just checking on GRC.com how secure my system is without it on, and because the router responded to a ping it has failed! So it seems the...

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

It seems to work much better with the router firewall off, it hasn't disconnected yet (though there seems to be some faulty tracks in the library I need to look at I think - faulty metadata I think and tracks that have moved as they ended up in the wrong place). Looks like I will need to port-forwar...

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

I'm using Amahi 7 on a Minimal install of Fedora 19 (because the PC is x86). I'm looking into problems with the router (an Belkin AC1200) as well - I've just disabled it's firewall for the moment to see what happens. I tried reinstalling the app, that didn't work. I've also tried re-installing the e...

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

All the shared file folders have the correct owner and permissions.

The minidlna log file is only 83 bytes!

I'm at a complete loss at the moment!

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

I've just tried reading the log as Root - still get Permission Denied! I don't use Greyhole - I don't think it's even installed (unless it's done it automatically). The Subsonic app wouldn't stream until I gave the Guest user access to the music files via it's app page - I've been thinking there may...

Re: SOLVED: DLNA connection and database problems

UPDATE: There doesn't seem to be anything wrong between the radio and the server - Subsonic runs absolutely fine (though that will change come late April when a fee gets charged for DLNA). miniDLNA again cut out, and is still refusing Windows Media Player with the message "The Remote Media libr...
