Re: Off-and-On DNS issues with my HDA

Thanks Bigfoot. Not sure now, but I thought I had disabled the router's DNS function. Though since you mentioned it, I checked it and it is set to 208.18.47.61. I can no longer find the option to disable DNS on the router. It is TWC Ubee router. I will have to call them. I would rather not have to m...

Re: Off-and-On DNS issues with my HDA

Collins have you continued to experience this? I have had the same issue for about a week now. It began overnight on a day in which I made no changes to my HDA. I find that this is strictly a DNS issue as it cannot resolve names. I am still able to ping computers on my network and everything else (f...

Re: Greyhole Install on Amahi 7 Fresh install

In case it helps someone else; it solved my problem. You have way too many spooled files (in /var/spool/greyhole/). Try to set, temporarily, a higher memory limit for Greyhole, in greyhole.conf: uncomment the memory_limit line, and set a higher value, like 1G or something. Another option, if this wa...

Re: Greyhole Install on Amahi 7 Fresh install

After transferring data through the LAN. I verified ownership and started the greyhole service. I ran tail -f /var/log/greyhole.log and this is my repeating output. Mar 10 07:36:34 6 daemon: Greyhole (version 0.9.44) daemon started. Mar 10 07:36:34 6 daemon: Optimizing MySQL tables... Mar 10 07:36:3...

Re: Greyhole Install on Amahi 7 Fresh install

Not trying to be dense, I appreciate your help. You mentioned if I connect it directly, to go ahead and install the mount_shares_locally. If I do hda-diskmount it should mount the disk temporarily after which I can do a cp command from the external source to the appropriate share, say /var/hda/files...

Re: Greyhole Install on Amahi 7 Fresh install

I will go with the second route as well.
Turn off Greyhole and watchdog,
Then send files over LAN to shares from a separate computer.

Just verifying I understood that right.

Re: Greyhole Install on Amahi 7 Fresh install

Thanks bigfoot. Next questions is, I have about 2TB of data on a USB 3.0 external 3TB HDD (NTFS) that needs to be transferred into the pooled storage. I know trying to push that through the LAN will be incredibly slow compared to actual USB or even installing the drive. Is there a more efficient way...

Greyhole Install on Amahi 7 Fresh install

I have just reinstalled Amahi on my server and wanted to setup Greyhole before getting too far in. I am not great at Linux but I'm learning. Here is my system http://sprunge.us/FXaO I am not understanding fully how to mount the drives properly and thus edit the greyhole.conf file. my fdisk -l output...

Re: Shares access without VPN

I would say only if the two subnets can talk to each other. Try accessing via IP address and it does not work, you have your answer. \\192.168.2.xxx where xxx is the IP address of your HDA. Yea. I have tried that it does not work. I was wondering if there was a work around. Maybe through a port for...
