Logout Issues
This is really a "cosmetic" change request... 1) I was originally going to write a request for including "Logout" link/button within Amahi web dashboard UI. Before writing that I decided to do a search if such request already exist, and than look "one last time" around ...

Re: Home domain not working DNS error
While I am not sure what the other user's actual reasons are... let me share one that made me ponder for a minute. In the past some more sophisticated (Internet sharing) routers would allow you (or even force by default) to have separate subnets for wired and wireless connections. I have a Sonicwall...

Re: Troubleshooting DNS
Oh... one more thing... even though it does not happen often, it is possible for your router to hang, effectively killing your communication. You see that now and then... But its usually intermittent and sometimes hard to point to. Which reminds me... a few years back I would loose Internet at nearl...

Re: Troubleshooting DNS
Just wondering... Whose DNS servers are you using to resolve queries when the local (Amahi) DNS "goes down"? Also... 1. If you install Webmin app, it will let you in a really easy way enter IPs for additional public DNS servers. Doing a quick search should yield quite a bunch that are open...

Re: Senior citizen newbee with questions
If I may offer a few random thoughts 1. I am fairly new to Amahi. I have been using Linux "casually" for several years but I cannot say that I moved my expertise beyond that of average Windows user. Based on my exposure to various Linux distros, a noobie will experience either one of follo...

Re: DHCP strangeness
I am seeing a similar situation. DHCP is off on the router. Amahi handles both DHCP and local DNS. All "infrastructure" equipment on my home network is assigned a static IP. Router has it "hardwired" via its own web configuration UI. Smart switch and wireless printer get their st...

Re: Clarification Needed on VPN Bridge Setup on Windows Clients
Two more issues: 1. Following the OS installation it is unlikely that the newly created user will be on the sudoers list. In such light it might be a bit confusing for those new to Linux to be presented with an error message after entering command lines starting with sudo. Do you think it is advisab...

Re: Clarification Needed on VPN Bridge Setup on Windows Clients
Can anybody see any problems with letting HDA assign IPs dynamically for bridged VPN connections?
Ok... I tested getting dynamically assigned IP from Amahi server via bridged VPN connection and it worked just fine. The Wiki page will need to be noted accordingly.

Clarification Needed on VPN Bridge Setup on Windows Clients
Hello Please take a look at the Wiki page for the VPN Bridging --> http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/VPNBridge The section that needs revising is at the very bottom and concerns specifying static IP for the client. I have an older laptop with fresh install of Win XP SP3. As I am getting ready to take ...

Re: Unable to make initial login.
Hello If I may contribute a little bit to this discussion... 1. From the NEW user point of view it might be beneficial to include a "note" on the login screen of Amahi right next to the User Id and Password text boxes. Such note could remind users that the login to Amahi is the same as the...
