Re: How to use external DHCP?
DNS comes from the firewall right now. You are suggesting I turn that off and Astaro does the DNS. I guess that could work but Astaro would have to be on all the time. I'll see if Astaro can be a backup DNS if the Amahi box isn't working. If Amahi is trying to act as DNS and the firewall is also DNS...

How to use external DHCP?
I have a mix of devices which ultimately connect to an Astaro firewall which is the DHCP server. The divices are a mix of WinXp, Win7 and Linux-based media players. IPv4 is the only protocol used by the firewall. IT supports IPv6 but I'm not using it. "Guest" devices are usually WinXP, Win...

How to disable DHCP?
I have an Astaro firewall which sits between the Amahi server and the broadband connection.
How do I disable Amahi's DHCP? The Amahi server cannot get to the web which, I'm pretty sure, is a DHCP conflict.
The Amahi server SHOULD act as a LAN server.

UPnP shuffle (random) play to simple media players?
Has anyone used Subsonic (did it disappear from the main apps lists on the web site?) or Jinzora to send shuffle (random) music playlists to dedicated media players like WDTV? If so, can either (both?) support stored playlists of susets of audio files? The dedicated media players don't support shuff...

Re: Requested apps: DimDim, FlashLight-VNC, O3Spaces, Scalix
I'm still getting my feet wet with Amahi but, sure, I can help but I'm no expert.
Where can I see whatever notes/tests/etc. have ben done on these things? No sense in duplicating that which has already been accomplished.

Benefit: usable from almost any ...

Re: PCI SATA card support
edited: OK, that helps, thanks. The goal isn't hardware/driver RAID, it's SATA-via-PCI in a stable manner so an old computer can be used. I've changed my mind about streaming HD so bandwidth desired drops. There's so much market movement in small ion-based PCs at the TV that price/performance probab...

PCI SATA card support
Is there a list of known compatible PCI SATA cards? I have an Asus Asus A7N8X Deluxe 1.04 motherboard which I would like to use as my Amahi server. This board has an integrated Silicon Image 3112 SATA RAID Controller. I also have that exact same chipset on a PCI card which is in the motherboard, cur...
