Method for moving to new hardware
I currently have an older server level board running my Amahi system, the system is sold but loud as heck (long story but P4HT on a 1U board) I now have a newer, more powerful system that I would like to migrate my existing settings and things to. I was going to simply install a new copy of Amahi HD...

Re: Still having DNS woes
No dice on the router dns.
How can i check for active filtering? I am running DD-WRTv.24., it is not something that I knowingly turned on I don't think.

Re: Still having DNS woes
Hey cpg, thanks for the reply. It looks like the same thing for both my ISP dns servers, and google DNS servers, the google dns servers throw a different error though. /var/log/messages using my ISP dns servers { Aug 2 02:58:43 ptreefamily named[3687]: failure resolving 'www.google.com/A/IN': 68.87....

Still having DNS woes
Hi all, So after the fresh install of everything I am still having issues with DNS. From my amahi system I am not able to resolve URLS, if I use nslookup and specify a dns server it works. I have not worked with any Linux DNS servers before so i'm not really sure where to go. Let me know what you th...

Re: Install trouble!!
Alrighty folks, I think I may have figured out my problem. It looks like the install froze, and locked yum in a bad way. After cleaning out the muck, following the re-install instructions, and running the hda-install -f command. it looks like the install is doing its thing. Tailing the hda-install l...

Re: Install trouble!!
Just a quick note, after the failed install yum was jacked up. I went back to the repo files, and commented out the 'mirrorlist' and uncommented 'baseos' (not sure if this did anything but it prevented yum from throwing errors. I then did the following { rm -f /var/lib/rpm/__db* rpm --rebuilddb yum ...

Re: Install trouble!!
I had some DNS issues after an install the other day, but that was likely something I did wrong. So I re installed the OS and re-installed amahi. The reinstall was not successful, it stuck at 99% for most of the evening (about 8 hours or so ago). Looking at the logs I think I know at least why my in...

Re: Amahi Install - sooooo close
I don't think so, unless there is some magic foo enabled on my router that I don't know about. OH yeah I have rebooted this stupid system more times than is prolly healthy ;) I have done so much to the system at this point I am going to nuke it and start over. If I end up here after that no big deal...
