Re: Problems with share permissions

having exactly the same problem, second user account can see the shares but cannot access any of them... seems my main account was created in a user group of its own, whereas the second one was in the normal users group. going to try this fix and report back, looks like a pretty glaring flaw in amah...

Amahi OpenDNS forwarding

Seeing as Amahi takes over your networks DHCP and dns functionality I was wondering if it logs the local dns lookups anywhere? From a parental control point of view it would be great to see what's been browsed and perhaps even block sites you don't like the look of. An app would be able to do this p...

Re: Is this possible? accessing apps through yourhda.com

Sort of works... using the guide mentioned earlier works too, though you need a domain of your own which allows you to add cname records... for example I have ajax.mydomain.com links to ajaXplorer eyeos.mydomain.com links to eyeos transmission.mydomain.com goes to transmission webvnc.mydomain.com fo...

Re: Suggestion for next round of app releases

I'd really like to see zoneminder too... WHS has a fairly decent IPCamera security app, having zoneminder on amahi would be brilliant, tried installing it myself but the amahi etc/httpd/conf.d setup doesn't allow for standard script aliases to work... instead dumping you back at the HDA login page w...

Re: Is this possible? accessing apps through yourhda.com

wouldn't just adding an alias into the individual confs work?

Alias /appname /var/hda/web-apps/appname/html

Re: amahitunes/zina/fireplay/firefly

not sure how to build packages for amahi sadly, though I've got this up and running now too, asides from a bit of minor tweaking it's almost ready to go as-is, shouldn't be difficult to do at all.

Re: amahitunes/zina/fireplay/firefly

I have fireplay installed and running on my WHS box... it's a WHS add-on which uses flash to provide an iTunes like mp3 player in a web browser... It's very easy to browse large libraries and I use it constantly from work to play back my music... http://www.mediasmartserver.net/wiki/index.php/FirePl...

Re: Greyhole

That is great to hear :D greyhole has a lot of promise from what I can see. Before I checked out whs I tried all sorts to get that kind of functionality in amahi, raid+lvm... lvm+rsync... many a night spent arguing with it without much success.

Re: Greyhole

Very interested to hear how this is going, the soft drive pooling in WHS is the only reason I chose it over amihi in the end... if something like this is competently implemented I'd definitely be giving amahi another run
