Re: Upgrade to 5.1

Thanks for asking. I had the same question and couldn't understand why there weren't any instructions or anyone talking about how to upgrade.

Re: search and delete question

I'm not even sure what is supposed to happen with Ajaxplorer. It launches and I can see my files but when I click on one nothing happens. I hit download and nothing happens. What is supposed to happen? The delete part fixed itself I asked about fixed itself. Now and then on Windows 7 I will get lock...

Shutdown headless Amahi computer?

I'm running Amahi headless. How do I easily shut down the hda computer? I don't want to have to plug in a keyboard, video and mouse every time and I don't want to just power it off via the power switch.

Re: Movie Player front end?

I couldn't get VLC to show a library. It seems like it can but I can't figure it out so I installed XBMC. Wow. Box 1: nVidia 5600GT vid card dual boot Win7 and Ubuntu 9.10 Works great under Win7. Works like crap on Ubuntu. VERY slow. The mouse movement is very choppy. Almost useless. Box 2: An older...

Movie Player front end?

For music I use iTunes on my Win7 and XP boxes and RythymBox on my Ubuntu box. Import from //hda/music and all my music is in one place. Works good. For pictures I use Picasa 3 on Win7 and XP. Set up //hda/pictures as the export folder and it imports all the pictures into Picasa. All my pictures in ...

Re: Printer sharing on Windows 7

I just added a second printer to my Amahi box. I knew I needed to add another LPT port since LPT2 was already taken. I was following the instruction under Windows Server 2003 to add another LPT port using regedit and I found I already had it. So, I did the command line isntruction using LPT3. It was...

Re: Printer sharing on Windows 7

net use LPT2: \\servername\printer

worked for me although it took me a little while realize I had to type in

net use LPT2: \\hda\Samsung_ML-2510

to match my situation.

Re: My HDA Project: From the Ground Up -or- How I Did It

My two cents: 1. I needed to burn the Fedora 12 ISO at 4x or else I got errors. In general, burn all ISOs as slow as you can. The 64bit DVD did not work well so I used the 32bit DVD. 2. Fedora is an unfriendly front end. Due to some philosophical reasons Fedora doesn't want to support MP3 playback. ...
