Re: Green computing?
Red Hat Enterprise has a page about it's green function, one might want to look into the use of the software quoted there, most of it has been tested in fedora before being included in red hat enterprise. http://press.redhat.com/2010/05/25/red-hat-expands-green-computing-features-in-red-hat-enterpri...

Re: Amahi’s popularity?
If might add my two cent I'm baffled too that Amahi is not more popular and widespread as it is a very nice distro and it is doing something very unique. i guess there is a set of problem related to amahi itself what it does and what it might do, and there is another set of problem about "marke...

Discussion Thread: AmazonAWS/Amahi for Office and Home use
I registered and tried the Amazon AWS free service . It could make for a great platform for Amahi, basically one has this control panel where one can launch instances (=virtual machine) based on AMI, an AMI it's an image of a system, many are available on amazon cloud already (public and official re...

Re: Crazy Idea, Amahi on Amazon AWS micro (for free!), NAT t
Anything is possible, however I don't believe you could easily hook 2 HDAs together. This is a very advanced setup. We do not support this type of setup, therefore cannot help. Actually having spent the evening playing with AWS some friend of mine suggested a simpler setup: home HDA: ssh endpoint A...

Crazy Idea, Amahi on Amazon AWS micro (for free!), NAT trav.
hi, I'm a happy amahi user since few years, the only big limitation I have in it's use is due to the fact that my provider put his consumer behind a NAT, so I can't be reached from outside (beside upload speed of home adsl in europe) I know there are a few ways to bypass that, basically always a tun...

Re: is there a way to access through ISP NAT?
I am in the same situation (Italian Provider named Fastweb), here's what I figured: 1) accessing Amahi VPN server or web login, depending on your home firewall settings and/or ISP firewall if any is present (ISP firewalling you is different from ISP NATting you), should be possible from another conn...

Re: Amahi Guest OS - XEN Source
Hi nemolomen, doesn't seems that way to me, see fedora 12 release note, maybe they were able to squish it in at the last moment or you meant dom0 (fedora as Xen hostOS)? 5.3.12.3. Xen Kernel Support The kernel package in Fedora 12 supports booting as a guest domU, but will not function as a dom0 unt...

Re: Amahi Guest OS - XEN Source
Hi, I was able to get a PV fedora template to use a fedora VM in xenserver, the thing is in order to boot this VM I need to create an initrd boot image pygrub and xen compatible for the stock kernel (which support booting as domU guest, so no recompiling was needed). Fedora uses dracut to do that, w...

Re: Amahi Guest OS - XEN Source
So they're both bare metal hypervisor with different underlying technology (still both ok for home use) and different licensing models. I like xenserver (free) network and storage config, you can do pretty much whatever you want, any VLAN config included. It misses email-alerts and some advanced log...

Re: Amahi Guest OS - XEN Source
Hi Louz, thanks for the suggestion, I'll take it into account. still I can't say that that was my impression, I mean I just played with two Debian Etch VM (they come as a template in Xenserver ready to use with a paravirt kernel) one is configured as gateway (already sharing the connection to my hom...
