Re: Show Us your home server
This is one of my HDA's, based on an older Atom 330 Supermicro 1U server. I put it back in service to use with my Cisco Lab.

Re: Using Zotac NM10-DTX , Problems witht Sata Ports?
Start off by Googling the controller name and Linux support. If that doesn't turn up anything try the Fedora forums and search for the controller of even the motherboard model number. Remember Google Search is your friend.

I'm not sure I fully understand from your description, but have you tried a static IP for the device? Here is a link to the Wiki with instructions on setting a static IP.

Re: burn dvd's on the server
I don't know of any app that will do that at this time. I have had pretty good luck burning CD/DVD's over the network. I download to the HDA, then just point my burning program, such as Nero on my client PC, to the iso file on the HDA. You would need to make sure your client PC is logged into the HD...

Re: crashplan installation
I'm not a coder either, but was wondering why you would need this? CP encrypts them to a proprietary format anyway, its not like you can access them easily. But you may have other reasons, please share.
