I went to http://hda and under disk/partitions I see list below: Mount point dev/sda1: /boot/efi dev/sda2: /boot dev/sda4: / 49GB dev/sda5: /home 700GB When I map the drive, I can only see 49gb. How do I use the 700gb instead....

Re: Installing Amahi on Brand New Dell but Error

Don't know what the issue could be. Maybe something in the machines BIOS needs changed. Try burning the image to CD/DVD at a slower rate. Not sure what else to suggest. I was able to install it but now the new issue is the size of the hard drive. I have 700 gb hard drive but it's only showing 48 gb.

Re: Installing Amahi on Brand New Dell but Error

There may be an issue with the media you are using.

Are you using DVD, CD, or USB?

CD is best, but USB does work for many. Have to follow the guidance in the wiki for using USB.
Tried USB too but still getting the same Error.

Re: Installing Amahi on Brand New Dell but Error

Don’t use the Express DVD. Instructions state to use minimal CD first. Please follow the instructions.

It works best and we don’t recommend the DVD due to many issues users experience.
Still same issue with it too. Same error.

CLOSED: Installing Amahi on Brand New Dell but Error

Hi I am using express DVD which I tested on my old computer. Everything is working fine. Now I want to switch to a brand new PC. When trying to install, I am getting "/dev/root does not exist". Please help. Thanks.

Re: How to I edit amahi.conf

The default editor for Fedora is called "vi".

If you want to install "nano" do the following from the command line:

Code: Select all

sudo dnf install nano
When I try to save it's saying "Can't open file for writing". any advise?
Nevermind it worked. Thanks a lot.

Re: How to I edit amahi.conf

Ok good.

Yes login and then the wiki should guide you through the process.

In future, please provide more details. It will help us understand what you are trying to do.
What is the default editor for it? I tried to change the config file but not sure which editor works.
