Re: DNS and DHCP should be optional, for real

I found this. It is a work around to basically render DHCP on the airport useless.

Re: hda.com

Regarding the top level domain .local, after reading this Wikipedia page on Zeroconf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeroconf and joeaverage's post above, should .local be avoided for one's HDA domain? Honestly?...I do not see where one has to do with the other. Having a top level of .local means the ...

Re: Feature creep vs stability

I have had some thoughts and ideas about Amahi and I am thinking the thread is just the place. There seems to be MANY apps of a similar kind. Could it be time to direct Amahi to a more high level focus? At a high level you could have Business and Home User Then look at the types of apps these types ...

Re: Ready for testing: CrashPlan

Would be nice to see a web interface to manage the crashplan client. Has anyone approached crashplan to see if this is in the works or to suggest it?
CEO never replied my email about this.
Not to worry gboudreau...Tried the ssh-x approach. Works GREAT!!!

Re: App Sugestion : ThinLinc Remote Desktop

Thought, Could the application Publishing features of this allow applications without a native web interface to be included in the Amahi framework?

Something like CrashPlan could be published in a web browser using the java thin client.

Similar java client is already being used in VNC.

Re: Ready for testing: CrashPlan

I am using the Amahi to store most of my files instead of local storage. This allows for a couple of things. 1. Amahi apps can use them. 2. they are accessable for others on the network and available remotely using VPN. 3. The crashplan can back them up remotely. If you use a friend's amahi (like gb...

Re: Sabnzbd, DLNA, Wordpres and Mindterm final testing

bigfoot65, Just a thought... Anyway to make the one click install already configured so the folder settings point to an Amahi share with the correct permissions set? Either an existing share or a new one. Thought this would make things a little easier for new users as I had to adjust permissions of ...
